I am just tired of losing. USPS denies insurance claims, increase in fraudulent buyers, lack of buyer interest, an ever increasing ebay omnipotence toward sellers. More rules and regulations to follow that I can even read through. So there comes a time to say enough. I've reached that point, so will start looking to the local auction house. I can't possibly loose more money. Ebay has ceased to be fun.

I'm very sorry you feel this way. I certainly can understand what can bring you to that conclusion, but I am sorry you are having such a tough time.
The volume of Ebay rules is very overwhelming, I'm sure most would agree with that. Without knowing any specifics of what brought you to feeling this way, we can't really offer you much help or understanding, if any is to be had.
But I can say that when you run into an issue the next time, consider coming here FIRST, before trying to resolve the issue yourself. There are very knowledgeable sellers here and we may be able to better guide you to a conclusion that is better for you. Since there are so many of us, we have a better chance of knowing the current rules.
I wish you nothing but the best. BTW we can be fun too !!!

·4 months agoI saw the writing on the wall years ago and stopped selling here. I just buy. I couldn't deal with the new payment system, scammers, and all the other nonsense sellers have to put up with here.

·4 months ago@tdebuys interesting. I made over $1,000,000 on ebay since 2011.
I just have one take on this:
YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG!!
By the way:
LOOSE is what your pants are 2 days after Thanksgiving Turkey Dinner.
LOSING is what is done at the HorseRace Track.

Yes, especially @keziak who's still trying to unload all those old books on a bum knee.

·4 months agoWho me? Haha. My first "customer" is coming tomorrow. When I told him I could not help bring boxes upstairs he said he'd be OK if not too heavy. Well, t here are several books he's going to want and they are VERY heavy. I suggested he wait until my son was off work to help but he's set on tomorrow due to already being in town. I suspect he doesn't know what 1500+ books look like. Or how heavy those particular books are (I guess they never sold due to the high prices and expensive shipping).
When I put up my ad on Marketplace I will say explicitly that FBA sellers with scanners preferred, will entertain offers if taking everything, must be able to navigate stairs and poor light. I contacted a "will haul books for free" guy who was insulting about my books until I provided my ebay name and he changed his tune FAST.
I guess I should try Craigslist too but I've never done much on that site.

·4 months agoeBay can be a grind. I’ve never been upset by buyers or interest or the USPS or eBay – sometimes selling on eBay. It doesn’t match what I need at the moment. I’ve taken plenty of pauses – a couple of them long. Right now, I’m down to selling on one ID that’s a really good fit for my priorities this year. Even on that ID, I’ve ton things down significantly – I’m about a third of what I was a couple of years ago. I think if I had tried to keep on going at my previous levels, I’d be out of eBay entirely.
Maybe you consider something like that – just take a break, or just tone it down a little bit. My stuff wouldn’t work well at an auction house – maybe your items will. Sure, it will likely be easier – but they will take a lot more in fees I would think. I would think that your net will be less – a lot less – but that’s your math to do.
Regardless, best of luck to you. You’ve had a really good run – eBay filled some need or want for you for a long time. That’s a really good thing – personally, I look back at my time on eBay as a good thing. when I’m done, I’m not going to be upset – I’ll look at things in the in the totality of what they were.
