Promotion is not working for me, or anyone else?

I search in the flute category, because I have an Artley 18-0 flute I am selling. I put promotion on the flute but there is not in the search results. I am sorting low price to high price, and I can see that nobody is promoted. My search keywords are 'artley flute'.

I tried searching for 'flute' in the best match and I can see that nobody is promoted. Also my flute did not appear in the price range after more higher priced flutes appeared.

What could be wrong with the promotion and listing? I started the promotion 30 minutes ago, but like I was saying, I don't see any flute that is promoted.

My Artley flute has had only 1 view from having listed it yesterday.

路6 months agoAlways allow 24 hours for any changes to propagate throughout the eBay system. Especially any changes to promoted items. eBay gives you a flag on the page about this when you set up a promotion.

You might be correct about the promotion for these specific flute models.

路6 months agoOk, now that I figured out how to see your listings (my mind was reading your user name as "Music In Tree" and not "Music Int Tree" thus I was leaving out a letter T.

Your flutes are both listed near the top of the market for the models they are.聽

Are they in top of the market condition? I don't know about flutes, but your Armstrong looks mint to me, but the Artley does not.聽 In any case top of the market prices should go with top of the market quality photos and listing. Does your Armstrong have a silver head?

I would examine the sold listings for models of your flutes that sold for high prices and emulate those listings, including titles.

In any case I would not promote either one of those. There are not enough Armstrongs on the market for it to matter, and anyone shopping the higher end of the artley market is going to look at pretty much all of them. People don't tend to impulse buy at the high end of the market.

Sorry I can't give link to my listing, or I will get flagged if I do.
It has been working, and it's like you have been saying. Not in the sorted list, only in the best match list.
I have seen it showing up in the listing now.

路6 months agoLinking to your own store page will not get you flagged, there is literally a link next to your name there that is supposed to do that. It is just broken because you changed your username.

路6 months agoI'm sure someone will be along to correct me if I'm wrong, but I think ebay stopped showing "sponsored" listings in the "Price" sort a while ago. (In fact, I think they stopped in all the "sorts" except Best Match ,which ebay has stated in the past is used in the vast majority of searches)聽

The main advantage for one off , long tail items is not generally search position anyway, it is the fact that your listing can show up on many, many more pages within ebay, such as competitors' listing pages, etc.

That's the entire point of 'promotions'; to show someone's stuff when a buyer just peruses without sorting.聽

路6 months agoIt's a glitch where the forum still uses the old account name in the links. You can replace the 'ssn' in the URL with their new id to see their items.

I see it using the search you used. Looks like promotion might be working. But it never shows up when sorting the list.

According to google people search for Artley 18-0 flutes all the time. And some people look for that model. But I never get a page view. My markup is small, I am not trying to make very much profit.

Many of us here don't.
I searched for "artley flute" with best match.
I came back with 219 results.
Yours was 2nd from the top.
Seems to be working.
