Progressively worse.
Each month seems to be getting progressively worse. In summer, I was getting a whopping 9 sales per month. Down to 6 in Oct. None in the final 11 days. Removed several more listings that continue to collect dust. Still dependent upon local sales. Last option will be to try 100s of listings of similar items. See if that makes any difference. The clock is ticking for my stay. If there is no improvement in Nov/Dec, I will not stick around to see if 2024 will be worse that 2022 & 2023. Best of luck to you. 🙂

·2 years agoeBay went from 175 million active buyers in 2018 to 129 in 2023. They've literally lost 26% of their userbase (Nearly 50 million people) in only 5 years. That doesn't include number of sellers which they don't even report those number anymore (Because they are also dropping every year). Plain and simple numbers and math don't lie. Less sellers and buyers means less sales. Hopefully eBay gets up off the couch and does something for once besides leech the sellers further. For their sake not mine I'll be fine either way lol

They are already the second-most visited e-commerce website behind Amazon - ahead of even Walmart and Target.
eBay is losing sellers, especially smaller retailers of new items whose listings are a better for for Amazon, Wal-Mart, or a Shopify store. Because even giant retailers like Wal-Mart are getting into third-party retail and have opened up their websites to allow small businesses to piggyback on their traffic and their brand.
e-commerce has matured, and sellers have many more options than they did even as recently as 2018. And when small retailers of new items go to other sites or open their own Shopify stores, they take the buyers of their new items to other venues.
When a market matures and competitors move in, it is always the big dogs who lost market share - because they little dogs don't have enough market share to lose.

·2 years agoIMO your results are not bad for roughly 100 listings of collectible items. More listings should help somewhat.

OP2 years agoUnfortunately, it was not much better when I had 600-700 listings.
