Product Recall
Does anyone know how to contact eBay customer service directly for an unusual problem? Something I sold has been recalled by the manufacturer and I need to be able to contact the buyer to let them know. I couldn’t find a way to contact them and hope customer service can help me. Thank you, db

·1 year agoWould think this recall would be for the manufacturers original and their Authorized sellers of this product not a second seller or yard sales - my guess it had a s/n of some sort stamped some where

OP1 year agoHi John, If it wasn’t about lithium batteries and their charger, I wouldn’t worry but it seems safest to inform the buyer. Thank you! db

·1 year agoYour only sale on this user account was too long ago for us to see anything about. I don't think you need to worry about it, but you can probably manage to get in touch with them if you really want to.
Your sales history will not retain much buyer information after that long, but the buyer's username should still be there. If you click on it, and then in my test case I had to click again on the username in the pop up, you can get to their profile page. From there, you should see a Contact button in the top right section, where you can send them a message. You'll have to select "This is not about an item" because that item will no longer be in eBay's system. Then you can send them a message about it.

OP1 year agoHi Jonathan, I will try my eBay-ignorant best to follow your technique. I very much appreciate the advice about how to get around the very limiting drop downs. Thank you! db

·1 year agoHow long has it been since you sold the item?
I wouldn't worry about it, unless the buyer contacts you.
Ebay might send the buyer an email letting them know about the recall.

OP1 year agoHi Ken, June of 2022. Since it’s about lithium batteries and their charger, I feel an obligation. Hopefully someone will know how I can contact the buyer. Thank you! db
