Price question
Just curious.
Was searching for a product, Un-du Adhesive Remover, came upon this listing 176583148918.
Can someone explain why the seller is asking $39.82 for what I assume is one small 4 oz bottle? Isn't that price gouging or am I missing something?
Someone else is selling a 32 oz bottle of the same product for less than that.
Again, just curious.

·1 year agoI looked at that high priced listing plus quite a few other similar sellers with similar pricing.
They are all foreign dropshippers, one registered in Israel, another pretending to be a US seller but they are using the location of freight forwarder in DE.
The somewhat shocking thing is all of those seller are actually getting buyers to pay those prices and in spite of their atrocious feedback profiles.
That's the thing about eBay there are just as many stupid buyers as there are stupid sellers.

·1 year agoI can't say with any authority the motivation behind the seller or the price point.
What I can say anecdotally, is that in my product category I see many TRS listings & sponsored listings that are MUCH more expensive than B&M/online retail (let alone B&M/online sale pricing).
100% of the time, these listings are accompanied by stock photos.
Sometimes, the stock photo does not match the item/description.
Yet, these are TRS's & the items are actually selling.
I would simply echo what @youn2240 said
re: being a conscientious consumer & doing your due diligence.
Just make sure you are comparing apples to apples. Best of Luck!

·1 year agoNo that's not what price gouging is. This is a great display of shopping prowess in the way that you compared their item but then found the same product in a larger amount and at a better price. I give this 3 thumbs up for great job comparing different items from different sellers.

OP1 year agoThanks. I personally wouldn't buy the 4 oz for $39.00; especially if I can get more for less.

·1 year agoSince its not an essential product, no, it’s not price gouging.
Could be a mistake, could be a placeholder listing, only the seller knows.

OP1 year agoWhen you say placeholder, do you mean keeping the listing more to the top in search?

·1 year agoMore like the seller has run out of stock and raised the price so the listing would stay active but no one would buy it.

OP1 year agoSeller states that have 3 available so they have them in stock.
