·1 year agoA good question, with a lot of good responses. To make it even more complicated, I remember a time where the price drop would have to be at least 5% in order to be worthy of eBay sending a notification to an interested buyer. BUT, eBay is constantly changing things, so who knows what goes on.

·1 year agoIt depends on how your buyers have set up their communication preferences. Under the section " Buyer" , If they have checked the box " Price Reduced On Item", they will receive a notice on items that are on their watch list.

My settings do not restrict notifications, so yes I do receive notifications of price reductions on items I am watching (and probably also those I've viewed).

·1 year agoI do get occasional notifications. Probably not every time. In addition to user settings, I think some of it may go back to the algorithm and how much the buyer showed interest in that type of item (e.g. Did the buyer look at 8 listings of cell phone cases or only 1?)

I opened a 2nd account a few months ago, mostly just to see how my store looks from the buyer's point of view.
And yes, when I keep all notifications on, I receive a price change notice on items I'm watching.
However, those don't come through my ebay messages, they just come through to my email. (Store Newsletters just go to email as well). So, people may see them, or they may get lost in the dozens of ebay marketing emails that you receive when you have notifications turned on.

·1 year agoPart of the reason for the divergent answers could be if one’s relevant notification settings are enabled like “Item updates,†below (or something similar).

·1 year agoI just lowered prices on some items and a few of them were in the category of send offer to interested buyers. I would hope they see the lowered price.

·1 year agoI'd go with this, there was a time a few years ago when I was getting notifications of price reductions on items I was watching. I haven't had any "lately" but that could be because I have not been adding many things to my watch list or because the items I do watch rarely go down in price.

·1 year agoRight. I had to go all the way back to 2013 (searching my email for the phrase "lower price") before I was able to find this:
New, lower prices. For a limited time.
Hi a_c_green,
We thought you might like to know that the price was lowered on one or more of your eBay items. Prices are subject to change. Please act now!
(That wording above is a little inaccurate: it wasn't one or more of my eBay items; it was those of other sellers that I had on my watch list.)
However, they do still send out notifications when an item has been relisted. There is no comment in the notification about whether the price has changed.
