Preparing for this unusual feedback
Just sold an Item about an hour ago and I sometimes check the buyers feedback left to sellers. Is this something I can ask eBay to remove if I receive it from him and when will be a good time to block this buyer?

·4 months agoI would absolutely ask for that to be removed if they leave it. I don't know if you can do it through the automated system because I think there has to be a neutral or negative for that. But you can contact a rep via Instagram.
Some may say this won't hurt you, but the message definitely implies that the seller is a "predatory seller" and that ebay removed his negative feedback. The people on this board know better, but a regular person reading that might see it that way.
If for some reason you can't get it removed, it will just move down the line of positives and be glossed over, so it won't really harm you in the long run, but I'd still get it removed if I could. And I'd also report the seller. (All hypothetical, of course, since none of this has happened yet)

·4 months ago@mattva I think you are worrying over nothing. If I got that feedback, I would have a few cheeky responses ready.
A therapy session was not included with your purchase, but thanks for the postive feedback anyway!
This is proof I'll sell to anybody, even those in psyc wards.
You get the idea.

·4 months agoWhy would he leave positive feedback with a negative comment?
Buyers are allowed to leave negative feedback with a negative comment.

·4 months agoMy guess is that he got that message about "You have to wait 7 days before leaving a Neutral or Negative for this seller," and he didn't want to wait that long.

·4 months agoBecause he's encountered slick sellers who know how to get negative feedback removed.

·4 months agoWe have no way of knowing such feedback will be left, even though I would agree it certainly points in that direction. I say wait until the feedback is left, then go from there.

OP4 months agoI know I can be a little paranoid but I do like planning ahead. The buyer might leave me glowing feedback or the opposite. I just don't want my feedback page used for his agenda that has nothing to with what I sold him. Thank you for your replies and advice.

·4 months agoIn any case, this guy's little propaganda ad campaign won't hurt you, anyone looking at it is going to think the buyer is nuts. Though I think you can have it removed under the ruling of negative feedback left with a green donut.
If not, you can always leave a response similar to the other seller who said they weren't sure what this individual was talking about, but everything went smoothly.

·4 months agoEbay will 100% remove this if you ask.
This is probably that guy who was posting here the other day about how he was mad about ebay automatically leaving positive feedback for sellers. He basically said he's going to retaliate by doing exactly this.

·4 months agoso how do you ask?

·4 months agoPersonally I wouldn't bother with getting it removed however if you wanted to go that route you could ask Ebay to remove the comment only due to the nature of the comment which has nothing to do with the sale but just being negative towards Ebay in general in a positive feedback which is prohibited. You could also report the buyer as well for leave this such feedback. Also check to see if this buyer has a history of this by click on feedback left which is in there profile. You might not be the first seller who has encountered this type of feedback from this buyer.

·4 months agoTo my understanding, feedback that does not reflect the details of the actual transaction itself, is removable under eBay policy.
Or has this changed?
This feedback has nothing to do with that buyer's purchases. It's a slam against the eBay website. If I got that as a feedback, even a positive, I'd seek feedback removal from eBay.

·4 months ago"Harmful, inappropriate or irrelevant content and images"
eBay removes all feedback that contains any:
"Meaningless content or images that aren’t of the item purchased"

·4 months agoif it is green I do not think ebay will remove it, not going to really hurt you but ebay does like to leave the fb with the most words used at the top

·4 months agoYes, and I notice that all those comments in the screenshot were posted over a month ago; the limited number seen there show nothing newer or older.
I'm sure there are more that we haven't seen, but it may be that either the buyer was going through some kind of a bad patch (even mental issues show themselves on this site) or he only leaves those rants when he's honked off at some particular seller.
To be clear, I'm not defending the guy, and yes, that's a comment that I would at least try to get removed. If that effort fails, let it slide without responding, as it's a Positive and will slide off the first page of feedback soon enough (for chronological feedback) and hopefully will get pushed down by more "relevant" feedback as time goes on.

·4 months agoCross that bridge when you get to it. There's no point in worrying about it now.
You have no idea why he left those but they're all violating policy so it's not clear why the users he left them for didn't have ebay remove them.

·4 months agoAll of the FB the OP copied here is FB that was left for sellers by buyers. It does seem somewhat harsh, but, as FB left by buyers for sellers, not sure it's eligible to request a FB revision, and, besides, it's actually left as positive green donut.

·4 months agoIMO,
Step one: Ship the item
Step two: Forget it.

·4 months agoEvery single one of those comments should have been removed. It's a violation to post negative feedback with a positive rating and vice versa.
ETA: The OP hasn't gotten any feedback at all from the buyer yet so this whole discussion is kinda pointless.

OP4 months agoIt was a Buy It Now sale. There was no communication before hand. The buyer checks positive but the feedback he leaves to sellers seems like propaganda and I really was just wondering if eBay would remove it. I'm just asking in the case if he does leave it.
soh.maryl
·4 months agoNow that you are in a transaction with this buyer, you cannot consider blocking til the transaction is over and done with.
The time to check the FB a buyer leaves is BEFORE you're committed to a deal with him.
Aren't you leaping ahead a little fast inquiring about what to do if you receive negative feedback from a buyer who just made his purchase an hour ago?
chapeau-noir
·4 months agoThat doesn't work with buy it now. And I don't blame the OP at all for wanting to get ahead of this possibility. I would.
