Potential buyers might get the wrong idea about me
I wonder how ebay sorts the “most relevant” order for feedback received. I checked the feedback page of one of my accounts and notice that the sort order is the same when viewing from different accounts.
Of the top 9 feedbacks in this order, 6 of them are from buyers who left comments thanking me for going out of my way beyond obligation to help them. Ranging from allowing them to change their orders and/or addresses, rush handling time to make sure the item arrives to them way ahead of their ETA because they “needed” it, helping them locate a package with minimal to no tracking info, selling a duplicate item at a discount because they claimed they got hit by porch pirates, etc.
I hope buyers who see these feedbacks don’t get the wrong idea about me that I’m a big softie or anything like that. I might seem like an easy scam target because of that. For every one of these buyers that I help out, there’s like billions more I turn away and say “tough luck bucko!”
ebay making me look like a pushover here.

·5 months agoI can see your concern, but on the other hand I would not worry about it unless it becomes an actual issue for you.I think Ebay is just trying to show you are a great seller & the buyer can have confidence in purchasing from you.

·5 months agoYes there are many that study feedback and look for a push over seller to mug, some also send messages asking stupid questions so they can gauge your reply to see if you are easy to mug.
When was the last time you went to walmart and after you paid they said thank you, buyer was dressed nicely, parked correctly in the parking bay, wore deoderant, placed shopping cart neatly back in cart bay?

·5 months agoI do not think eBay says what determines it. My guess is how well buyers have hit those critera eBay wants them to select. I do think responding to feedback can elevate it as well.
In some ways I do see your concern. I like glowing feedback, but I also think that can set a buyer up for being disappointed when buyers go over the top. I am not perfect. Far from it. Very far from it. While I have systems in place to minimize mistakes, they are not foolproof by any means.
