Possible Reseller
I can see why people don't like resellers. I get a message that my item is overpriced and the potential buyer wants it for half off. I politely decline, can't find the same item sold or available for lower than I have listed so I look at what the potential buyer sells - the same item as me except it is double what I am asking. So yes I guess my item is overpriced for reselling....maybe I should raise the price!

·5 months agoI've sent offers for 50% off in the past and occasionally had the seller accept.
I don't do it anymore because I have such a knack of acquiring inventory that 50% off isn't good enough, and the odds of sellers accepting 80 and 90 percent off offers are not worth the effort.

·5 months agoYep, some of the stuff I buy can already be at 20% of streetprice and then we try to go down from there.
Some, I just buy it now.

·5 months agoLots of offers are sent offering 50% or less of the asking price by people who are not identifiable as resellers.
Some people are too crass or too stupid to realize their offer is insulting. But, on the other hand, there are sellers who will accept such low offers.
You need not have Make an Offer enabled to get this sort of offer. If you do have Make an Offer enabled, you can set up to have these offers automatically rejected.

·5 months agoLots of sellers are somewhat, in love with their items and they are priced too high or maybe the item just is not a good fit for eBay. The item(s) been out there for a year or several years, no sales, even on multi-quantity listings.
I can go back and forth without a deal and then come back a week or two later on another buying account and they take the first offer I make, which was close to the same as the first offer I had made previously.
Love of money overrides love of item(s) at times.
EBay is where the good deals are to be had. I make buyers good deals all the time or so they say.

·5 months agoJust don't respond to random messages like that. If you have a Best Offer option then the potential buyer should just use that.
And if you don't have best offer on the listing then it should be pretty obvious to anyone that you're not accepting lower offers...and therefore it's kinda rude to ask...

·5 months agoYou did what you wanted to do which is politely decline the offer and move on. Just don't accept the advice or offer given. Yes resellers do want to find stuff cheap so they can make a profit. In business you will deal with many different people. Resellers are one of them.
