Policy Violations that aren't
I have had a 80 year old collectible police badge of a department that does not exist anymore taken off for policy violation
There are a large number of badges for sale right now on the site . I ask to talk to an agent the the AI problem solver keeps putting me in the same loop which gives me no viable options. I have been doing this for 30 years, it is disheartening trying to get answers

·3 weeks ago@dpchief91 Category matters. Look into what @stainlessenginecovers told you. IF that is where you listed and they pulled it, then it is best not to try again.
I have a told of police stuff that was used in the TV & Movie industry that I bought on eBay many years ago when there wasn't a problem selling those type of things. I'd love to sell that stuff here, but probably won't because of your very issue.

seems like that one could or could NOT be an issue but after all, AI does NOT research/look at pictures to 'compare' so my guess is:
it is simply hit/miss whether an AI bot picks it up (only since there is actually a category CREATED by ebay, as well as 1000's listed.
Heck, you can get a 'police' uniform here under 'Halloween costumes' so maybe that's the trick.
Just list is under any other random category as probably 90%+ of users simply put 'keywords in a search' and do NOT use 'categories'.....

·3 weeks agoI have also had this happen about a year ago; two long-defunct, obsolete badges were taken down. I have also had other things taken down that were definitely not in violation such as a 1970s car license plate that was taken down as "new", several new-in-the-box bottles of perfume that were taken down as "used", etc.
IMO, there is no point in fighting it when eBay/AI takes something down, so I don't. I've been at this too long to get upset about it. I just sell the item elsewhere.
AI is "running the show" now and it is taking down a lot of things that are not in violation. It is also leaving up a lot of listings that are definitely in violation and even if reported, AI says there is nothing wrong with the listing. It's not right but I really doubt if anything is going to change.

·3 weeks agoThe allowed ones could be listed under 'Collectables-Badges-Obsolete-US. What category were you trying to list? although....the entire point of the 'not allowed' whether 'obsolete' or not is that someone can still use it to impersonate. It's the same with FD badges.
