Policy violation appeal stuck in resolution hub
A new listing was ended for Contact Information Sharing policy violation. I could not figure out what the issue was and clicked on Appeal in the Resolution Hub. Now I cannot do anything with the listing. All the options are greyed out when I look at the listing in the resolution hub. This happened on March 8. I cannot delete the listing, cannot modify it, cannot do anything with it.
How long does it take ebay to review appeals and if nothing ever happens with the appeal, does the listing stay stuck in the resolution hub forever?
After reviewing the listing again, the only thing I could see that might trigger the violation was a link to the manufacturer's web site for the item being sold. Manufacturer does not sell retail so figured this did not constitute an offer to sell outside of ebay. Never mind the fact I was listing at less than half of retail.
I modified the link to display only the manufacturer's home page and created a new listing. So far it has not been killed.

OP5 months agoThanks all. Finally found a spot where I could delete the listing, got a report from ebay that my case was closed. Sure is nice to know they have a truly meaningful process to help people learn and understand. Been lucky so far I guess.

·5 months ago@mssusr9501 I went through this yesterday. I initially appealed the violation, then decided I would end the listing, make a change that I think triggered the bot, and relist. (My item is not in violation of policy.)
To end the listing, I went into the eBay app, found the listing in question, and I was able to end it that way so I could make my changes and relist.

·5 months agoI wouldn't hold my breath on getting your appeal addressed. Just re-create the listing without the web link. And be glad your whole account wasn't restricted, that's the real pain point.

·5 months agoNo outside links should be included at all, not even a manufacturer’s website. There are a couple exceptions in the link policy that didn’t used to be there, but I would not include anything that could even be perceived as a link.
