Please help fellow sellers
I have twice now sent in purses to the authenticated with not such good luck I know they can deny authentication for many reasons besides it being not authentic but I've had a horrible experience I mean how am I supposed to know if it's real or not that's why I'm sending it in to be authenticated but yet I'm punished for it three days and then a week that's ridiculous and then I asked why they said for educational purposes ridiculous someone explain to me why the authentication Department can't just do their job and I have to get punished if it's not real. Also doing is making me look elsewhere to sell vestiere collectives OfferUp the real real makes no sense eBay

·8 months agoNo matter what you might think, authentication is subjective. And sometimes the authenticator is wrong and other times they cannot state with certainty whether an item is authentic or inauthentic.
Sometimes a flawed product makes its way into the marketplace, sometimes through outlet channels, sometimes through personal means. The product might not be possible to authenticate with the flaw. Or the authenticator might advise the buyer of the flaw which you did not describe and the sale is cancelled because the buyer is unwilling to accept the flaw.
Were you to attempt to sell the item again, another authenticator might make a somewhat different call.
In some of the areas I sell in, I know more than the authenticators and their limited product knowledge has led to items which are authentic, are documented variation which they have never seen or read about. Comes with the territory. As you gain experience, it may or may not get easier.

Yes there's a whole niche industry that sells seconds that are from the actual manufacturer that got rejected for sale to high end or their own stores. Legit outlets that disclose the fact that they are selling seconds.

I don't know if it's authentic, but I do know that the Dooney & Bourke you have advertised as 'Pale Blue' has photos of a yellow bag. That will be problematic, too... might want to revise that listing.
Afterthought... I'd also post pics from your LV Wallet listing on the Fashion board as @bonjourami advised. Good luck.

OP8 months agoThank you for your advice. I will definitely fix that and also look into the fashion board. I didn't know there was one. Appreciate you...

·8 months agoSelling designer anything is difficult. It is often hard to authenticate as it can go to the stitching, fasteners used for the item, even the fabric. There are just so many fakes out there. I am not sure if you paid real price or fake price or the history of the items. That makes a difference. What I mean is if you bought a Gucci for $25 on the street it probably is not real. If you bought one for $200 from a well off estate it may be real. That is what I mean by history. Good Luck.

OP8 months agoPeople bring me things to sell. I also find them. Many different ways. How does everyone feel about legit grails new courses?

·8 months agoIf it helps you, you can go to the Fashion board with pictures of your purses before you list them. There are several well qualified experts in there that are extremely helpful.

·8 months agoSlapshot listings when you dont even know if the item is authentic is putting your account here at risk. I see you already have a negative feedback for selling a fake, you are on thin ice, good luck. You also canceled one transaction? If you used out of stock for that cancellation, you also received a defect to your account.

OP8 months agoYes iam human and not perfect like apparently you are. Iam not on thin ice. Iam a new seller with a 92.4 %. And learning to swim. So don't drown me throw me a life jacket. I admittedly told the customer. I was sorry. And would return. Even admitting my mistakes.

·8 months agoYou are on thin ice with eBay, which is an expression meaning you are about to be in very serious trouble.
Do not sell another item without seriously reconsidering your business model. I would recommend you take down all your current listings, learn about what you’re trying to do properly, then start again once you know what you actually have to sell that can be sold. Otherwise you will likely find your account permanently suspended.

·8 months agoSorry, but you need to make sure it's real before you even list the item.

OP8 months agoWell that's common sense. But as iam not an authenticator. nor are any of you. I was thinking that was there job. But i guess not.

·8 months agoIf you buy items from a reputable source, do a bit of research and include it within your pictures and description you can have confidence if an item is real or not. There will always be buyers who will question even a real item trying to get it for free. I think this will be true whether EBAY authenticates it or not. I don't think there is a requirement for EBAY to authenticate nor is EBAY authentication set to do that work for you.

·8 months agoThe others are correct!
If you as the seller are unsure if an item is authentic or not, its better not to list it. The authenticity guarantee is for the buyers so they know what they are receiving is the authentic item they paid for. Ebay restricting your account for 3 or 7 days is just so you understand not to list similar items again, and they will continue to extend those restrictions if you continue with the same issue (Listing not authentic items) until they eventually suspend the account.
If you are unsure about an items authenticity, its better to get it looked at first before listing it on ebay.

·8 months agoYou are fundamentally mistaken.
You are supposed to know whether it real or not before you list it.
