Hi,
This issue has been ongoing for years. I used to sell multiple items on eBay and everything was going great. At the time, I had a friend—based outside the U.S.—who helped me manage the account and listings. One day, eBay restricted my account, and I started seeing this message:
“Your account is currently limited. Go to Messages to find out what you need to do next.â€
I remember calling eBay customer service back then, and someone told me to submit proof that the account belongs to me. However, I was busy focusing on branding and selling through my website, so I didn’t follow up right away.
About a year later, I tried to sell a few items again, but the same prompt appeared. When I went back to check the messages for instructions, they were no longer available. I’ve called eBay multiple times since then, and each time I was told a request would be submitted and I’d receive a response, but I never heard back.
It’s now been several years, and I’m stuck in an endless loop. Is there any way to finally resolve this?
Thank you.

OP1 year agoThe least thing you could do is ignore the question and move on, you think I don’t know that I should have taken care of the problem back then Sherlock. Useless answer honestly

There is your problem. eBay thinks your "friend" either owns the account, is sharing it, or is selling their stuff on your account. It is a good idea to not allow people to share or even access your account for no good reason. If you gave your bank info to your friend outside America, at some point, your bank will also probably shut down your account. eBay like so many companies have to know their customers to avoid running afoul of money laundering laws and criminal activities. They know you. They do not know your "friend".

eBay is not a place for those who fail to follow instructions... and even if one DOES follow instructions, things like sharing an account with a person across the ocean can be problematic.
You might try to contact eBay through a social media channel.
For example, Facebook/eBay.
They might be able to help you.
