Piggybacking Offers to Watchers
I sent an offer this morning to five watchers. I have since acquired more watchers. How do I extend the same offer to them right away?

·8 months agoPersonally, and partly because my products are long tail slow sellers, I prefer to wait a month and make Targeted Offers to those who have already shown some interest during that period.
YMMV.

·8 months agoI have started trying to manage sending offers better. I have found once you do so it locks up your product and rarely results in real sales. If a watcher wants the product they can send an offer or just purchase it.

·8 months ago@jdbelt1960 Depends how you define "locks up". Others can still purchase, so your item is not locked from purchasing, you're just locked from making certain changes to the listing &/or sending more offers unless you use Automated Offers.

·8 months agoWhy not just lower your price for a few days, then raise it back up? That way you control the time and edits if necessary

OP8 months agoHi. Only because it is less than a week old and I have sold things before at full asking price when offers were active. I would like to keep that possibility out there for the moment.

·8 months agoOK, but then I wouldn't send any offers on new listings, let them play out for a listing cycle before considering any offers or reductions. I often believe people watch items just to get the seller to send them an offer....don't be too quick to send them one

·8 months agoYou cant! The option for sellers to send offers last 4 days. Meaning you would wait a minimum of 4 days before you can send new set of offers. The only way you can send new offers sooner is if the first set of offers is declined by each of those buyers.

·8 months ago@njtoyreseller You can if you use Automated Offers, as I explained in post 3. That's the advantage of using the Automated offer system. Of course 'you' are not manually sending them then, eBay is automatically sending them on your behalf per your instructions. This is a fairly new option, I think it was rolled out in March.
Outside of that though, yes, you'd have to wait the 4 days or if all the recipients declined, then you would be able to. But if you use the Automated Offers, they will be sent immediately when available, regardless of whether there are already outstanding offers of not.

·8 months agoI prefer to pick and choose my Offers, but as I understand it, if you have five potentials and send them Offers, then another five show interest, you can resend Offers and they will go only to the new customers.

·8 months agoYou're not really understanding it. You can't send more offers until 96 hours after after the last offers you sent if you don't enable "automatically send offers."

I understand it as you do. I think, @myblueturtle, you can fire off new offers and they won't go to your previous 5 watchers.

·8 months ago@myblueturtle If you use the Offers tab, you can send Automated Offers. The Automated offers do not require the 4 day wait, they are sent out immediately when it's an available option. Because they're automated, you're not really going to see this though (it's kind of behind the scenes), unless you go look into the details of the Offers tab, which has a lot of cool new features!
This is one of the big advantages to using Automated Offers! In fact, it's the whole reason I decided to switch to them. Like @sin-n-dex said, you can still choose by item, it's just a checkbox or toggle, so you can do some automated & some not if you wish. You can choose how long you want the automation to continue. It's a very robust new feature.
Please note that all the normal rules will apply. The Automated Offers are still ONLY going to those people who it's eligible to send to. For example, if a potential buyer has chosen NOT to receive offers, just b/c you've automated does NOT mean it will go to that person. It still only goes ot the people that you would have been eligible to manually send them to, but without the waiting period!

·8 months agoWhen you send an offer, you can toggle something to continue sending the same offer to every eligible watcher as they add the item to their watch list.
I tend to not do this because I may lower my offer price as the item stays listed for long, or pull back on the offer if the item increases in value.
