Permanently Restricted Due to BBE Concerns – Now Receiving “Suspicious Activity” Message When Listin
Summary: The discussion involves several participants addressing an issue related to a restriction imposed due to BBE (Bad Buyer Experience) concerns. The main participant, fashion.house-540, reports that now when trying to list, they receive a 'suspicious activity' message, which seems to relate to the previous restriction. Other participants, including lacemaker3, kensgiftshop, soh.maryl, and jonathanbrightlight, appear to be engaging with fashion.house-540's situation, though the content of their contributions is not disclosed. The issue seems unresolved within the conversation, focusing on the implications of the restriction and the new 'suspicious activity' alert.
Hello everyone,
I’m looking for guidance regarding a permanent selling restriction on my account.
I was informed that my account was restricted due to Buyer Experience (BBE) concerns, including metrics such as customer claims, feedback, and overall seller performance. I understand eBay’s commitment to maintaining a safe marketplace and protecting buyers, and I take those standards seriously.
However, after the restriction was applied, I noticed that whenever I attempt to create a listing, I receive a message stating that my account cannot list due to “suspicious activity.” This has left me confused because the original explanation referenced BBE and seller performance concerns, while the listing error references suspicious activity.
I would appreciate any insight from sellers who have experienced something similar:
- Has anyone received both a BBE-related restriction and a suspicious activity listing message?
- Does the suspicious activity message simply appear after a permanent selling restriction, or does it indicate a separate issue?
- Has anyone successfully appealed a restriction of this nature or obtained a more detailed explanation from eBay?
I’ve always tried to provide good customer service and comply with eBay’s policies, so I’m hoping to better understand the situation and whether any further review options may be available.
Thank you to anyone willing to share their experience or advice.

·4 months agoA permanent restriction means just that: permanent.
You will never be able to sell on eBay again. The restriction will always be there. There is no way to appeal the restriction. It can’t be removed.
Trying to make a listing after you have been permanently banned is suspicious.
With BBE issues, you get warnings and selling limits for several evaluation periods first. If your performance improves, then the limits will be removed. But once you have been permanently restricted, that can’t be changed.
Sorry for the bad news.

OP4 months agoThat’s the problem. I’ve never had a warning it all happened on a random Tuesday. I’ve always had very good reviews. If I knew I would’ve done better, But I guess it’s too late now. Thanks for replying.

OP4 months agoOh, I forgot to mention that and the message I got it said that it was a temporary restriction But when I talk to support they told me it’s permanent selling restriction Which is odd cause they both Contradict each other.
This restriction means that you will not be able to list new items or engage in further selling activities until in this case, I would request you to continue as utilizing our platform as a buyer. However, eBay keeps revising the account and updating the guidelines/policy. If in future the account found eligible for selling, you will get the notification accordingly. Till the time we would request for your understanding.

·4 months agoWhen it's a BBE suspension, it's permanent and there's no appealing it.
Best you can do is find another place to sell your items.

OP4 months agoIt wasn’t a suspension, as I stated it was a temporary restriction. And I actually appealed it but the decisions wasn’t what I hoped for.

·4 months agoThe title of your post says "Permanently Restricted" which may be the reason we thought it was, well, a permanent restriction.

·4 months agoIf eBay has ended your listings, that’s it. It’s permanent, no matter what wording seems confusing in other places.
