Permanent selling restriction despite resolved cases and positive feedbacks (Misconceived SNAD)
Hello everyone,
I want to share my experience because I genuinely believe my account received an unfair permanent selling restriction, and I would appreciate any advice or insight from other sellers.
I started selling on eBay in December 2024 and always tried to provide professional service, follow eBay policies, communicate properly with buyers, and resolve every issue responsibly.
In February 2026, I received a restriction because my SNAD (“Significantly Not As Described”) rate was considered above average. The problem is that the cases used against my account were, in my opinion, not true SNAD situations by nature, and moreover, were resolved responsibly from my side.
In the first case, the buyer opened a SNAD case because a small painted detail on a character’s eye was slightly scratched or peeled. The issue was a minor factory defect and was not even visible in the provided photos from the buyer. Regardless, I respected the buyer’s concern, issued a refund, and the buyer was satisfied with the solution. However, the case still counted against my SNAD metrics permanently.
The second case involved a buyer claiming the item material was fake and requesting a return not considering other possible solutions. I accepted the return immediately, uploaded the return label, contacted the buyer regarding the process, and cooperated fully. The buyer never completed the return process, and eventually eBay closed the case in my favor. I also received confirmation that the case would not affect my account.
However, during this period I received a “Bad Buyer Experience” warning stating that my SNAD metrics were above average, and shortly afterward, eBay restricted my selling privileges (email saying temporarily, and a chance to correct metrics) based mainly on these two cases. Then, not long after that, in about 3-5 days, my account received a permanent selling restriction.
What makes this especially difficult for me is:
I had no unresolved cases
I had no negative feedback
Both cases were resolved
One case was even decided fully in my favor by eBay
I always responded professionally and quickly to buyers
- During my selling period, I was always a Top-Rated Seller
- Neither of these two cases was associated with SNAD by nature (there are truly other options related to similar concerns)
At the time of the first restriction, I had around 146 positive feedbacks from about 350 sold items. Even after my restriction, from February until May, I continued receiving around 40 additional positive feedbacks from previous buyers, with no complaints or dissatisfaction. Some of those feedback messages were extremely kind and supportive, which makes this situation even harder to understand.
I have contacted customer support many times over the last 3 months asking for a fair human review of my account, but I continue receiving the same response that “the system made the decision” and nothing can be changed.
I fully support buyer protection and understand that eBay must monitor seller performance. But I genuinely feel that my account was permanently restricted because of incorrectly categorized SNAD cases rather than actual dishonest selling practices or poor customer service.
Selling on eBay was very important to me, and I took it seriously as both a business and a long-term future plan. I am honestly heartbroken by the outcome.
Has anyone experienced something similar?
Is there any realistic way to request a proper human review or appeal in situations like this?
Thank you for reading.

The BBE rate is a simple percentage of cases filed. What you think it should be instead probably does not matter to eBay.
Is there any realistic way to request a proper human review or appeal in situations like this?
You are not really asking for a "proper review", you are asking for eBay to waive the policy simply because you do not like it.

·5 months ago@avtakamk_0 I won't read this whole thread.
I can say that dropshipping on EBay is a very tough business and there are 10's of thousands, probably more that have ended up at the same dead end as your eBay business.
Dropshipping is risky business and with the BBE initiative eBay has implemented, it can end abruptly as you have experienced.
Wishing you the best on other platforms should you choose to continue elsewhere.

No there is nothing you can do nor will you be reinstated. You need to find another platform to sell on as others are pointing out you are permanently banned on Ebay. There is honestly no information to provide for you. Ebay has made the decision to ban you which is final.

There was a guy that posted here on the boards about a week ago, his name was Habib.
He says he can get a permanently suspended account restored.
However, I am unable to find the thread.

I did not come up with any listings advertising help on those issues. Maybe I am not a great searcher.

I couldn't find that thread either (probably deleted), but Habib is all over the internet Habib Wahab . - Empowerers | LinkedIn telling sellers on eBay, AZ, MP, etc how to run/improve/restore their business.

·5 months ago@inhawaii, was it this guy: habib_consultant ?
@habib_consultant has had 9 out of 10 posts removed, but I found this one:
https://www.ebay.com/usr/habib_consultant
The eBay avatar looks a lot younger than the guy on Linked In though, and he isn't in Bangladesh either. I don't think that's really him.

·5 months agoThe numbers tell the story. There is no trial, no judge, no jury.
You had these disputes, you are undesirable as a seller because you made buyers unhappy.
Ebay feels they are better off without you and your merchandise. Game Over.

I will not criticize you.
I will just answer your questions.
Q: Has anyone experienced something similar?
A: Yes.
Q: Is there any realistic way to request a proper human review or appeal in situations like this?
A: No.

He can get your account back.

·5 months agoWhen sellers are restricted and/or banned due to BBE, the outcome of the disputes doesn’t matter, it’s that enough disputes were filed at all.
And dropshipping from China is a sure fire way to get BBE banned.
And that’s 🗿 a moai, not a genius.

·5 months ago@grann-4629 Is he any good at scaring away squirrels?
I have a psycho squirrel problem. They eat the furniture, scare away the birds, and leave… presents all over the place. I tried a fake owl with no luck.
We’ve trapped them and released them in the woods so many times I think they just see it as a free ride to the forest.
Now if only they ate the spiders…
grann-4629
·5 months agoMy neighbour catches them and takes them out to our large park/zoo to free them. I like to watch them play and try to figure out how to get to the bird feeders. Those little guys are all muscle and can climb a 90 degree wall with no effort.

to effectively relocate a squirrel you need to take them at least 5 miles away if not 10. It is also said that over 90% of relocated squirrels will die as they do not know the "territory" and where they had hidden food.

What you don't realize, there are a lot of people that use eBay that actually despise drop shippers. Many users feel this is a blight on the selling platform.
There are several reasons, but I will outline a few of the most important ones:
Bottom line, many users here on eBay prefer not to do business with these types of sellers. Sure, some may be good performers and aren't necessarily bad, but there are a great deal of them that are bad, or use the platform to sell low quality items and give some buyers a bad experience. This is why eBay cracks down on sellers like yourself with a harsher view. While they want to make sure the buyers have a good experience, they will not tolerate sellers that might give buyers a bad one.

·5 months agoBuyers are always right. Positive feedback means nothing. It's all about the account metrics. If you are drop-shipping from China, the SNADs are probably valid.
avtakamk_0
OP5 months agoBad attitude. There are dishonest buyers, too. Also, everything was described and the buyers must read some information about the product before paying. So, Chinese product doesn't mean that SNADs are valid. No logic. Also nobody enforces the buyer to buy the performed item they see in particular sections, and no impulse decisions when you have to pay some amount of cash.

momtoabeautifuldaughter
·5 months agoWe are also talking about that as well since it seems you were drop shipping so you have no idea if your listings were as described, hence you getting SNAD cases.
You were given very good information but perhaps you didn't understand it?

·5 months agoeBay seller ID is in Georgia(country)-but shipping from China-but only sells in USA and item comes from somewhere in the USA? that was the main problem.
I only looked at one item sold and didn't need to look further.
And I don't think you will be able to set up another account selling on eBay.
albertabrightalberta
·5 months ago@avtakamk_0
You're registered in Georgia (the country) but listings showed items as being located in China.
It looks like you were dropshipping and as such, you can't inspect items and verify that they're "as described."
Add to that the feedbacks from different buyers accusing you of selling fakes, I'd guess you're done here.
