Perfume Bottle with perfume left in it canceled by ebay; can I sell the empty bottle itself?
I had listed two Avon decanters that still had perfume in them because I didn't know about the 'used cosmetics' rule. If I empty out the two decanters and clean them up, can I sell them? Avon decanters are still collectible.

Selling a empty perfume bottle is fine.

I sold an empty container of Chanel awhile back.
It was listed under art and collectibles - "other perfume collectibles" - (vanity, perfumes, shaving).
Mine was empty.
I am under the impression if it is listed in the collectible category then it can have product in it.

OP8 months agoThe message I received from ebay yesterday said partial containers of perfume fall under used cosmetics so are not allowed. The two decanters I have are shaped like unicorns, and I had listed them under fantasy collectibles/unicorns. The message said AI flagged it and I could be suspended from ebay.

·8 months agoPeople collect just about anything. Those little booze bottles from airlines are pure gold.

·8 months agoJust as people collect empty liquor bottles.
You can often buy a limited edition bottle of liquor, consume the liquor and sell the empty bottle. often times for more than you paid for the full bottle.
Sounds crazy but i've done it before many times.
