Payouts on hold for 5 days... why
So I'm new to ebay, lost my job and going through cancer treatment. My car unfortunately needed repairs so I decided to sell some things on ebay so I can continue my hospital treatments. After selling about 1500 worth of items which should have been way more but ebay limited traffic to my items, but if I boost it for a ridiculous fee they will allow more views lol. Anyway I got the first 150$ paid out then i get payouts on hold for 5 days, that was Friday it's now the following Thursday and still no payouts, I ha e customers that received there items 8 days ago and left great reviews, ebay took there cut, customer has item but I'm not getting paid. They now have around 1300$ hostage of mine and after multiple phone calls I'm basically told I just have to take it and I'll get paid eventually. This site is **bleep**. I feel like I got played. Not happy at all I need that $ I was told I sold a lot of items quickly so im under review. Lol review for doing exactly what ebay is for??? Yup cause I need $$$ now I get nothing. Lmao. Anyone have any other venues to sell quickly. I would appreciate the advice. Thanks

·1 year agoWhen you refuse to refund an 'item not as described' which was returned.... and then instead try to resell it... and eBay is made to come in and do the refund.... well that is going to significantly increase the hold time beyond the usual 3 days after delivery.

·1 year agoEbay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

I am very sorry for what you are going through. Cancer treatment is tough stuff. I sincerely hope everything turns out positively for you.
Ebay has about 18 million active sellers, so they can't make a bunch of exceptions to the rules for those with special needs. That negative feedback you got didn't help you at all. You should NEVER do that. That will damage the health of your Selling account. You not only got a defect on your Seller Dashboard for that cancellation, Ebay likely did not refund you the FVFs unless you didn't tell the truth when you filed the cancellation.
Blaming this on Ebay is misplaced too. I get it you are upset, but the rules are what they are for good reason. Follow them and you will do much better. Don't make things up as you go, thinking what you feel is best is the way it will be handled.

It sounds like you signed up for eBay Managed Payments, but are not aware of the Managed Payments terms:

You are currently set up to sell on eBay...and most platforms are kinda like the same.
Why take all listings off I don't understand.
Only a pawnshop gives quick money but you won't get what your items are worth.

OP1 year agoNot worried about ebay now, I removed 38 items remaining and plan on deleting this account i just want what im owed at this point

·1 year agoUnderstood..but Ebay wont delete your account for months because you've had recent sales. They prefer that any refunds come out of your pocket, not theirs.

It takes time for an account to close. It used to take 6 months. Might be shorter now, but it’s a month at least.
Buyers that pay with a credit card will have 180 days of purchase protection. Sometimes a spouse sees a charge, doesn’t recognize it, and he does a chargeback. eBay needs to keep sellers around past that time.

New sellers funds are put on hold.
Did you read up about holds before you started selling?
Apparently not.

·1 year agoYes they can hold your money for up to 30 days, and probably will.
Neither Ebay nor other marketplaces are a place where a seller without any history can get fast money. Even PayPal has holds on new accounts.
If you want fast money, you will have to consider the old fashioned source, the pawn shop.

·1 year agoA buyer can open a return 30 days from the delivery date. Feedback does not matter.
EBay participates in risk management. New and infrequent sellers are a risk.

·1 year agoNot exactly "all items received by the buyers and good reviews". That negative for canceling a sale hurts, as well as the buyer who had to have ebay step in to refund them? If you aren't careful here, you'll end up with a bad buyer experience badge, and that' not good.

I looked at your reviews. Not so good. One a customer won an auction and said you blew them off and canceled because it didn't sell for enough money? Another had to have eBay step in to get a refund.
Ebay is probably putting a hold on your money in case others file for a refund. They want to make sure refunds come out of your pocket not theirs.....................

·1 year agoSorry that things aren't going the way you expected. Since you appear to be a pretty new seller, eBay policy states that, in that situation, they can hold the seller's funds for up to 30 days.
