Payment in hold, not new to eBay
Payments use to never be put on hold. Suddenly I come back to eBay and sell an item and my payments are placed on hold for an entire month? What's the deal here? I do not feel comfortable shipping out an item that I can't even see I have the funds of. How to resolve this?

·2 years agoWhat you bought does not count against selling, they are two different things. Looking at this account, which anyone can do, there are no sold or completed listing for the past 90 days + on it.

·2 years agoMy last item sold less than 4 months ago - I am a casual seller of my own personal items- now EBay decides to hold my funds for 15 days without prior disclosure. they have never done this to me before. This should be disclosed when a listing is being created if they are going to decide to just do something like this so you have the opportunity to make an informed decision if you want to continue the listing - not after it’s sold and you have no choice. It’s very interesting all the people they are doing this to. Just consider how much money they are holding back from sellers every day and all the interest they are earning on money that doesn’t belong to them while they hold it to supposedly make sure an established Seller completes the transaction. This is exactly why people are leaving EBay. Their customer service reps don’t seem to care but they will if enough people leave and the company earnings drop.

·3 years agoBeen selling and buying on eBay forever. Not now. They hold my money, no way. I tried to contact them, but all I get is a stupid chat box. I am done with them. Their loss. I'd rather give my stuff away. I am NOT a new seller.

OP4 years agoI'm not new-ish at all been here selling for years. I didn't take a hiatus. I e never had a hold on my funds and sold much more expensive items on this site.

OP4 years agoYes I've fully setup managed payments. And I am referring to eBay holding my funds. For one it is illegal for any company to hold funds to anyone who isn't a first time seller. I'll be calling eBay and if it's not released I won't be using this crap again.

·4 years agoYour original post states you came back and now have a hold. Your FB shows a large lapse in time since prior items sold.
To e-Bay, due to the hiatus, you are treated as a "new-er" seller again.
You may not like it, but you really should have researched before starting up again.
Understand your frustration - we're just sharing with you that it is changed on here. Good luck as you work thru your current constraints.....

·3 years agoYep, Irritating but true.. Too many new unusual crafty ways to scam folks since the early days.. Slowing down the process in the beginning to establish/re establish credibility is one of the few tools eBay has in it's bag..
