Payment holds
Hi,I 'm very angry,I noted today that ebay hold my sales money in my 3 account,the mesage said till october 20¡
I work with ebay till 2003 and have 3 nicks ,9000 feedbacks (100 % positive )selling vintage watches.It's a miracle to do this because a vintage watch could suffer any kind of damage during the trip .
Ebay said this payment holds are to do ebay a safer site .
I don't know how could I receive this kind of treatment.
Don't understand which kind of risk letting me operate as I usually do.
Very frustrated.I could understand the holds if I do everything wrong,but in my case,I couldn't find a reason about how they are treaten me via that way

·11 months agoA $3500.+ watch was sold the other day.
The problem can also be from the buyer who made a purchase from you or tried to.
A sale sometimes that high requires a buyer to OK the purchase by text or something else.
It's not unusual for a buyer to make a purchase and then dispute it with their credit card.
It can be any number of things that triggered the hold.
I would suggest checking that buyer in feedbacks to see eBay ID buyer what country they are located in and is this a new eBay buyer and does this buyer have feedbacks...and I would google this buyer's address to see what kind of building it is. Just thoughts here.

·11 months agoAnd there was no exchange of telephone numbers or emails which we are not allowed to do.
Something in an email in eBay to a buyer can also trigger something.
Just an idea...'kicking the bucket' around.

·11 months agoI don't understand the googling the buyer's address to see what kind of building it is.
What does that accomplish for a seller whose current complaint is that eBay is holding his funds in three accounts?

·11 months agoI get stuff returned all the time...addresses marked to hills, alleys, had a car wash and so on.
I kinda have a lot of sales compared to some who sell a few items a week.
It helps me to know if it's a real buyer or perhaps someone trying to see if they can make cheap purchases with a credit card not theirs.
Obviously we are thinking it is the high-end sale...wouldn't you say?
I had someone do an 'item not received'...it was a company and buyer said it was his father's company...never opened a eBay claim and I never refunded him...I got 'ghosted'...LOL
And don't you think it helps new sellers who might have a 'freight forward' from a USA address to a foreign country?
I only mention it as a thought checking all venues that might be out there.
This seller seems to be doing a great job selling so I thought it might be a buyer.
I can only say I did a 10-year census once and it was amazing the things I learned about buildings and such.
I was also able to dig into who lives where by going to the city hall looking for owners of buildings.
As I live in San Francisco...a lot of people live in back of buildings where the street address is one block.
I have only had to give one refund in years supposedly for a lost item...but usually get a number of returns every month.

·11 months agoAll new and infrequent sellers are subject to payment holds, and large sales or one outside of your normal selling patterns will trigger holds as well. You just sold a Rolex that was listed at $3500, albeit on an offer, and have several other large sales recently.
I recommend reading over this page carefully: https://export.ebay.com/en/fees-regulations-policies/transactions/payment-holds/ (you can click in the top right and change the country to Argentina to make sure it has the correct details for you).

·11 months agoThat is a longer hold than I have ever heard or read about.
Something about your transactions must be out of the ordinary and viewed as a major threat to trigger that long a hold.
I am surprised you are still able to sell.

3 nicks were having this holds,I don't sale fakes,I ship my items very quickly,they arrive in 5 days(fedex)
Don't know how this happen,the ebay representative I chatted explain me it's to make ebay a safer place.

·11 months agoIt isn’t Personal. eBay has the data – too many sellers with your profile will eventually run into issues that caused eBay significant money. That doesn’t mean that it’s likely that you are going to be a problem – just enough sellers with a similar profile to yours will be, an eBay would rather that any refunds come out of your funds than from theirs. That lengthy whole time, of course, is due to the length of time that it needs for your item to reach a final destination +30 days for potential disputes.

OP11 months agoI feel that you are suggesting that my accounts have restrictions because I did something wrong.Im writing here because I don't understand why I'm suffering this kind of holds.

·11 months agoIf the hold is til October 20th, that's about 30 days since the sale, which seems a reasonable hold for an infrequent seller, a seller of an expensive item or a seller who sold an expensive item when that seller doesn't usually sell in that price range.

OP11 months agoI have holds for 100 dollars sales,I sale watch parts too (estelauparts) and the same holds were applied to that account

OP11 months agoThat's not my case,I sell low cost watches,and have 9000 feedbacks because I do things well.Ebay has mechanisms to protect buyers,it's not necessary to take money for a long time too.

How could I mantain 23 years old accounts selling "thousand dollars watches" or bad low costs watches?

They said you're selling thousand dollar watches, and you're acting like you're not.
We can all see your current and sold listings.
You have several watches listed for at or over a thousand dollars, and have sold several at that price range.

·11 months agoWe’ve seen a few sellers like you come here with similar stories – 60 day holds, international sellers, seemingly really good performance. I don’t know, but I would think that this is because of what I referenced before – good sellers running into problems, creating issues for a large number of international sellers. if your performance really is good, understand that this isn’t Personal. It never is.
