Payment Hold prevents me from shipping item to buyer
How do I
1. contact a human to assist me
2. How do I refund the buyers money because I cannot ship the item as the payment is being held for two weeks
3. I have a stellar record for shipping and I do not know why the buyers funds are bing held for over two weeks.

It is so important when you start a new job to learn what the basics are of that job before diving in. It is no different here. People are depending on you.
You need to know how your money is processed, how to properly create a listing and basic customer service at the very least.
You need to get whatever you sold shipped or you will significantly damage the health of your selling account from the start. If you hold that shipment up, you will cause yourself harm, upset the buyer, earn a defect on your account and likely a negative feedback from your buyer.
You can use the Pending funds to purchase your shipping label if you create your shipping label within Ebay. If you are unsure how to do that, just ask. But get that item shipped out within whatever your stated handling time was on the sale.
If you can post more stuff. The ONLY way to work out of having funds held is to get some selling experience.
Ebay has had a rule for many years that pertains to New Seller and sellers that have been away from selling for 90+ days. The following is the policy that outlines why you money is likely on hold.

·2 years ago1.) You really don't want a voice on the phone.
Those are employees of a subcontractor in Utah or the Philippines poorly trained and with a quota of calls to answer each shift.
The sooner they get you off the phone the sooner they reach quota.
2.) You can use the Held funds to buy a shipping label. EBay offers discounts on shipping when you buy the labels through them.
3.) You have not been selling for over a year. New and occasional sellers have a 21-30 day Hold on bank transfer of their customer payments. It's not personal.

·2 years agoYou want to cancel an order, thereby providing a bad experience to the buyer, for something that is completely not their fault. They held up their end of the deal, but you won't?
How is that a 'great seller'?
If you ship it, you'll have your money within 18 days.
If you don't ship it, you won't get any money. Probably will owe eBay at least $0.30 though.

·2 years agoYou seem to be missing the point as to how to ship using the funds your buyer paid
when you go to print the shipping label scroll down and choose this option to pay:
understand this....we are on your side...we are trying to help and prevent you from doing something that you may regret down the road...we are not misleading you.

OP2 years agoI understand completely the answers given here. I've been a member since 1999.
yes, I understood that I could use the funds being held for 18 days to print a shipping label.
And that is great, if I had a printer.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoYou don't need a printer.
Purchase the label and choose "QR code" as the label format. You'll be sent the code by ebay, after which you take the package to the p.o. and show them the QR code. They scan it and print the label.
cubakahn
OP2 years agoThis is unfortunate.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoWhat's unfortunate? You can access the funds for the label! You don't have to lay out a cent from your pocket.
You do NOT want to refund the buyer's payment and cancel the order. That will put a huge defect on your account, potentially preventing you for listing and selling in the future. And the buyer will be within their rights to express their disappointment for the unwarranted cancellation in the feedback they might leave.
Ship the item and once tracking shows delivery, you'll be protected against INR.

·2 years agoYes, unfortunate that some returning sellers are not aware of payment holds.
PayPal did it back in the day. eBay now being the one that gets stuck if there is an issue with a returning seller with no recent selling does it.
Just ship it using processing funds by purchasing a label through eBay. Online labels are discounted. Cheaper than purchasing at the post office.
You are not a "great seller". You have sold 57 iems. None in the past year.
cubakahn
OP2 years agoAn excessive hold.
simply not worth the trouble.
itsjustasprain
·2 years agoWhat trouble? You WILL receive the funds - just not tomorrow. Furthermore that hold WILL go away after you have a few more recent sales under your belt. You may or may not have noticed also that you were told about the hold at the time you uploaded your new listing(s).
So anyway - you are free to have any views you like about whether the hold is excessive but hopefully you now understand that (1) you can buy the postage for the sold item from the held funds so you will not be out of pocket at all and (2) you can obtain a QR code for the label and let your post office print it for you at shipping time. Let us know if you have any other questions!

OP2 years agoThis is why human customer service helps every business.
telling a eBay customer/ seller they are not a. "Great " seller when they have taken pride in fast payment and shipping is tacky. The eBay experience gets denigrated.
18 days is excessive.

·2 years agoYou might have been a great seller, when you were selling before, but things change.
You come back and sold 1 item and already talking about canceling the order.
Be lucky it's only 18 days, some sellers they hold the funds for 30 days.

OP2 years agoI am an old seller (great record) who has not sold in a while because I sold an item and the buyer insisted he didn't receive the item. I lost money and stopped selling.
I returned to selling to sell this item and perhaps others. (Didn't see the "new" fine print as I am familiar with selling.
And, it does "make sense" if funds are hold for 18 days that impacts the shipping.
What doesn't "make sense" is holding funds for a very good if not great seller and buyer for 18 days.
18 days is a very long time to hold funds.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years agoEVERY seller who is either new or hasn't sold items in the last 90 days is subject to holds.
Your history shows that you received just 3 feedbacks as a seller and those are ancient. Past history isn't necessarily indicative of your current follow-through on sales. And in wanting to cancel because of a hold won't help!
buyselljack2016
·2 years agoHit the most recent, then check again. OP has more than 3. (27) Just another eBay whatever coding display issue..
But yes, all old feedback.

I know of many new sellers who would kill for an 18-day payout. You're getting better (sounding) info than others, FWIW.
albertabrightalberta
·2 years ago@cubakahn
Although the funds are held before being released to you, you are able to use the money in the pending payouts to purchase the shipping label.
heckofagame
·2 years agoIf you have not sold for a while, your funds are being held as you are considered a new seller or intermittent seller. Funds can be held for up to 30 days.
If the item is marked as awaiting shipment, you need to ship within your stated handling time.
redmodelt
·2 years agoIf you have not sold been selling in past 90 days, new or returning sellers will have a hold on payouts.
You should still be able to use those pending funds for shipping, if not, you need to still ship with in your stated shipping time. If you don't you will get a strike and maybe another if the item does not reach the buyer by the shown estimated date.
Because the funds have not been released to you, any refunds will come out of your pocket not the funds being held.
If your shipping window has not passed, suggest you get it in the mail.
What reason would you use to cancel the sale?
cubakahn
OP2 years agoHolding funds for 18 days for a great seller and buyer is wrong.
dentalsales4u
·2 years agoAre you saying you aren't going to ship an item due to payment being on hold?
This is why you need a backup payment source.
If a buyer filed for a return, those funds are put on hold so you have the funds to refund once widget is returned.
You always need a backup plan for situations like this.
cubakahn
OP2 years agoIf I have no money to ship and item and need the funds for shipping (I charged for "shipping" ) then the seller might have trouble shipping.
a_c_green
·2 years ago@cubakahn : I don't get the sense that you're understanding the answers you're getting here. Although the funds for an occasional seller may be held, you can still use those funds to buy the shipping label through eBay (which gets you a good discount off retail price as well). eBay does allow held funds to be used for shipping.
As for the remainder of those held funds beyond what you use for the shipping, they will be released to you soon enough, and the hold itself will go away with future sales. They're not going to get suddenly returned to the buyer after eBay says that you're clear to ship.
