payment funds on hold

I shipped a package to my buyer via UPS but did not use the EBAY UPS app. The package was received and accepted by the buyer and contents were in perfect condition. I spoke with the buyer. I have all ups receipts but don't know how to upload to this transaction file so ebay can see that it shipped and was accepted by buyer. She even wrote a great review. Very frustrated with EBAY support and being sent to read MORE articles.

Save the photo files on your computer and then go to the item you sold. Off to the right click on view order details and then contact buyer. You can upload the files and send message They you can contact ebay by phone and direct them to to message you sent.

They will probably still hold it for another few days...then may take another day or 2 to get then funds after being released. Typically after being marked as delivered funds are held for 3 days. Not sure if it applies to your case or not.

As mentioned in other threads above, a new seller is subject to their funds being held for 30 days.

As mentioned.... it is "Up to" 30 days. I gave a more realistic timeline of what is more likely to be experienced. Although after noticing what was sold at a high dollar amount (edit), it may be longer in this particular case.

In the OP's case, when the first sale is a high dollar amount ($400), the hold is more likely to be the full 30 days.

A $400 sale doesn't require s.c. (SC is required for $750+ and offers no more protection on a $400 sale.)

Thank you for the correction. I never realized they had raised it it from 250 to 750!

-You need to manually add tracking to your sold items if you buy labels at the counter. Take the receipt back home with the tracking number and manually type it in the Add tracking link on the sold item.

-If you print your labels through eBay tracking is automatically uploaded to your sold items.

-New or low activity Sellers can and do have their funds held for 30 days, read about that on this eBay Help Page: Payments on hold | eBay

-Since you are new to all of this make sure your account is set up to receive eBay Payouts for your sales: Getting paid for items you've sold | eBay

Additionally, since you did not have tracking on the transaction you need to check your Seller Dashboard, you may have received a Late shipping defect because you did not have tracking on the transaction. You need the carrier's acceptance scan within your stated Handling time to avoid Late shipping defects: : Seller Dashboard | eBay

I think what you are saying is that the label was purchased at the store and sent to the buyer. However, the tracking information was not uploaded to the transaction record.

If you go to your sold and shipped listings you should see the record for this transaction. There should be a drop down menu somewhere near the listing that will allow you to upload or input tracking information. Once you add the tracking number all of the tracking data should now be tied to the transaction and show that the item was shipped and delivered. It may not be instant, so give it an hour or so to be sure it took.

It also sounds like eBay may be wanting to ding you for an item not shipped defect which is very serious. However, once the tracking info is uploaded it should show that everything was done properly except for the uploading of the tracking. You may have to contact eBay to get that straightened out.

I've had a similar situation happen to me once and I think it resolved itself after uploading the tracking.

In the future, just use the eBay labels or a site like PirateShip. The labels are much cheaper that way and automatically attach to the transaction record. If you don't have a printer, you can get a QR code for your phone that they can scan and print at the post office.

This is a paragraph from eBays policies page:

New or infrequent sellers will experience transaction holds while learning best selling practices, becoming established, and building a strong selling history on eBay. New sellers typically experience holds for up to 30 days, although sometimes it may be longer.

So, even though your buyer received the package, you can still expect a hold on the money from any sales for a while.

For future reference, if you use eBay's shipping label program, it will automatically upload the tracking number into the transaction details. If you are getting your labels elsewhere, you still need to manually enter the tracking number into the transaction details. This is "reinforcement" that the item was sent and received, and gives the buyer access to tracking the package if they wish. You do not need to contact your buyers to ask if they have received the package and if they are happy with it. (Sometimes contacting a buyer like this can backfire because some buyers don't want to be contacted by a seller.) And a word of caution: never, ever ask for feedback from a buyer. Feedback is entirely voluntary and buyers are more and more less likely to leave it unless there is a problem.
