I am sure you know this, but have to ask: When you pay Federal income taxes which are legally deducted from your income, who do you figure you're making payment to, if it's not Uncle Sam?
We've all paid taxes all out life but what's it got to do with my question? Obviously as this is the ebay community its obvious I meant tax on ebay sales
People do come here and ask about other kinds of taxes besides the sales tax that buyers pay on their eBay purchases.
Since, again, you are in the UK, my suggestion was that you ask your question on your home site because most of us in the US have no idea what sales taxes you would be paying.

I've reported Ebay sales since I started selling on Ebay and any other place, like we are supposed to be doing.
After a little investigation, it appears the OP is from the UK, so possibly vastly different taxes than ours. For example, don't they have a Royal Family to support?
Paid Taxes most of my Entire Life and still do pay taxes but for stuff like Biden Ebay and Gig Economu they can be English and Kiss my Scottish you know what.

I see things a little differently than you do. There are 4 people in my family, all Adults. I am 300 lbs and the other 3 are 90 lbs. When anything breaks in the house "They" come looking for me. Who is the Boss of my house ? It certainly can't be them 90 lbers.

·8 months agoOverall yes I have been paying tax. It is required by law and if anyone avoids it they are subject to penalty.

·8 months agoHave filed income taxes for a long time but rarely ever paid Uncle Sam. Most usually taxes were already deducted and received a refund.

·8 months ago"yes, I started in 1977"
I first filed a federal income tax return in 1971, for my first job in 1970.
I was a bit of a late starter, compared to many of my 1967 high school classmates.

PS: Now that I see your location, perhaps you'd get better answers by returning to your home site.
There are probably different kinds of taxes there from those we have in the US.
