OP1 year agoHello and thank you to everyone who is helping me with your experience. I have one question. The case continues to be open. I uploaded the tracking and i still don´t have news from the buyer but i see now that i have an option "ask Ebay to step in and help" . Should i do that now or wait for the buyer to do it?

This is the part I'm referring to
Exclusions and special coverage when the buyer doesn't receive an item
Items collected by a third party on behalf of the buyer

Not covered

The buyer arranged their own shipping method, such as a courier pickup

Not covered

The buyer provided an invalid or incorrect address at checkout

Not covered
An ethical seller would refund the payment, less shipping costs, eBay fees, and international payment processing fees.
But it's my belief that eBay will not require any refund.
Hi @.....! You're correct in that a refused package is on the buyer and not the sellers responsibility to refund. As long as tracking shows the package was refused, then we would side with a seller if the buyer opened an Item Not Received claim.
I agree that I would not withhold all the money, but it is up to the seller if they would like to withhold shipping, refund the buyer entirely, or keep it all. If the seller is okay with refunding the buyer entirely and being out the shipping costs, then they can cancel the transaction using the buyer requested option since in essence, they did by refusing the package. If the seller wants to retain the shipping costs, then they can message the buyer a heads up (not a requirement but a nice thing to do) and then refund them partially through this flow here.

·1 year agoblah blah blah...
you don't have to do any research on google for contact post office that has the package.
** SHIPPING ISSUES 101
1. Go to USPS(dot)com
2. On the Right Side of the Home Page up top there is a link "HELP" (it's last link on the top menu before the Search Bar)
3. Hover over the "HELP" link and a drop down menu appears, select the first option on that Help Menu "FAQ"
4. On the next page you will see 3x option below in row, Select the option "CONTACT US"
5. On the next page there will see 3 more options in a row, Select "EMAIL US"
6. On the next page ENTER THE TRACKING NUMBER into the field where it tells you to "Please enter the USPS Tracking® number"
7. FOLLOW THE REST OF THE PROCEDURE - it's self explanatory. answer the questions etc...
But, But, NuclearOmen, What does this do to help ME????
- Easy, this OPENS A USPS INQUIRE ON THE PACKAGE (after you fill out all the necessary info they ask for - when completed you get a case # at the end)
- Next, after finish opening an inquire, you'll get an email automated response to the email you entered for contact stating that Inquire has been received and someone will be contacting you via email or phone (depending on option you gave to them) within 3 business days
- When someone does contact you. In YOUR case, that contact MAY BE from the destination Post Office, since tracking declares delivered to that post office, but usually USPS works it's inquire investigation from Origin Post Office first to Destination Post Office last. In anycase, someone (usually the post master of that facility) from Destination post office will call you and go over the issue of the package.
In meantime, can show ebay that a official USPS inquire has been opened on the package via the tracking number, when look that tracking up on USPS(dot)com after opening an inquire usually there is a notion in the tracking information that inquire has been opened. Ebay usually provides time for that investigation to work and close giving you, the buyer time to find out what is going on with the package.

·1 year agoTracking should show it was delivered to buyers post office. If buyer chooses to not pick it up that's his choice, however mysterious and odd. I think if you upload the tracking number ebay will decide in your favor.

OP1 year agoI also think that the buyer is lying because he sent me messages that its me who should re schedule delivery so he didn't even went to post office.
I replied him that the only one who can reshedule delivery is the receiver not the sender.

·1 year agoThe only protection you can count on is the protection you provide yourself.
You can pay the price to attempt a recall of the package. It might not work, but it might prevent the buyer picking the package up after a refund is issued.

·1 year ago"Held at buyer request" is like "Available for pickup." Basically, it's delivered either way, and eBay should recognize that as part of the data seen for that tracking number. Just be sure that the number has been uploaded to the claim, and do not ask eBay to "step in" prematurely; let the claim time out by itself.
USPS does not charge for a Package Intercept Request if it is not successful, but right now I would not complicate things by filing one. (They may also reject it anyway if the package is considered to be already Delivered because it's awaiting pickup for a buyer hold request, but that's a finer point that I am only guessing about.)
P.S. The OP is in Mexico, so perhaps there are some Customs paperwork issues that required a signature...?
P.P.S. The "Held at Customer Request" status is, in my experience, not always true. I've had more than one inbound package be shown as Out for Delivery (to me) in the morning, but then mysteriously change to that "Held at Customer Request" status later on. In a burst of candor to me once, one of the counter clerks said that they will sometimes resort to that if the package got missorted onto another route, and the carrier would scan the package for holding (to be returned to the PO at the end of the day) after realizing that the address wasn't on his route.

OP1 year agoI agree that probably "held at customer request"could be something by USPS , but still he has to reshedule the delivery if he wants the package. I can´t do it for him since i am the sender, imagine all the scams if the sender was able to manage the delivery.. My guess is that he no longer wants the item so its easier for him to not receive the package than receive and file a return

·1 year agoHmm, there are 3 post offices in Corona, New York when I searched. While it gives the zip code for the post office location in your screenshot, maybe the buyer didn't pay attention and went to the wrong post office? I'd ask if they could call all 3 USPS locations in Corona just in case and see if one of the others happens to have it.
If they still can't locate it, or they don't want to call and try to locate it, I'd contact eBay.

·1 year agoHave you called their post office? I have had a lot of luck with that. Say that you are the seller of this item.

OP1 year agoThis is what the buyer stated in the case.

·1 year ago@comicscauldron Yea, sounds like a scam to me.
If u feel like pursuing, u can call the post office and ask about the package being held and tell the buyer that is what u r going to do. Then let's see what he has to say LOL
eBay 'should' consider the pkg delivered once u upload the tracking number onto the case. If not, appeal it.

·1 year agoLoad the tracking number into the case.
eBay should close in your favor.

OP1 year agoI already loaded the tracking and sebt a message to the buyer telling him that thw package is in the post office by his request. Hope its enough for Ebay to close in my favor
