·11 months agoseems that the process is to leave a notice (I know, may not be possible because of that animal interference)
second notice in 5 more days, and return at the 15 day mark.
If not on the way back, then as others elude................. probably picked up and not scanned

·11 months agoI had 3 instances with USA buyers not picking up packages or whatever.
All had attempted delivery, redelivery, etc.
All 3 times i won the case as there was an attempt to deliver in which case eBay does deliver it a complete transaction.
So you should be good no matter what if there was an attempt.

·11 months agoYou haven't been paid because as a new or returning seller you have not yet met the criteria for default weekly payments.
Funds may be Held for up to 30 days.

·11 months agoIf the buyer has not contacted you: do nothing. Chances are it has since been delivered or picked up but wasn't scanned.
If the buyer files a non-receipt claim on eBay you have coverage because an attempted delivery (which is what you have) counts as delivered for eBay seller protections.

·11 months agoIf the buyer isn't complaining, then don't do ANYTHING AT ALL.
In fact, checking up on sent out packages is basically a time sink that can lead you to losing money.
I know if I went back and looked at my last 90 days that I would find all sorts of packages that apparently did not get delivered. Even though it is often obvious that they did get delivered (buyer left feedback or asked me a question once they got it). If you start following up on delivery issues then you will absolutely start getting claims put in against you.
Sometimes the package just never gets that delivery scan. Sometimes the package will make it from you to the customer, get delivered, having never once gotten a single scan.

OP11 months agoMy issue is that the funds that he paid are still being held. I'm not getting the money. What else am I supposed to do. The money is in limbo and the product is in limbo or didn't get scanned.

Item could be at post office to be picked up like 'always'?
A buyer can request a refund and then run to the post office to pick up the item getting a refund and the item.
There needs to be an open eBay claim...otherwise, I wouldn't do anything.

·11 months agoSo you're the seller? Have you contacted the buyer and explained why the package wasn't delivered? They will probably need to go to their PO to get it in the case of "animal interference". If they don't, it will eventually get back to you.

OP11 months agoyes I contacted him that it was due to animal interference. They just asked me to refund their credit card.

·11 months agoIt would have been better to say nothing and not draw attention. I realize your funds are being held, but eBay can hold any new seller's funds for 30 days, regardless of a delivery scan.
At this point do nothing and hope the buyer lets it go. They probably have their item. If the buyer does file a claim, as I mentioned above, you'll have seller protections if it's an eBay claim.

·11 months agoEBay does not require a seller to refund a penny if the shipment is Undeliverable.
This would seem to fit that criterion.
Give the tracking number in the Claim and repeat the "animal interference".
Since the buyer can also start a chargeback with their credit card, be ready to repeat the information. Don't assume eBay will do this for you.
That being said, also add to your claim response that you are willing to refund the purchase price when USPS returns the shipment to you, although you recognize that this may not be soon since Returns to Sender is not a priority for USPS.

·11 months agoIf you are the shipper you could file a recall with USPS and pay a fee (used to be $12) and get it back, or you can wait until the local PO decides to send it back.

·11 months agoIf customer opens "did not receive item" case against you (you must provide tracking# proving item was actually delivered to the customer or EBAY will force you to refund (purchase price + shipping).
Post office will not deliver packages if your customer has vicious animals (most likely this package will be returned to you eventually). You could go to your local post office and give them the tracking# and see if they have any additional information.

·11 months agoThe post office should have left you a notice in your mailbox to pick up your package at the PO- if they could get to it - if there was a dog out or something.

·11 months agoHow do does USPS get to the mail box to leave a note if the dog is in the front yard and the mail box is on the front porch?
It was probably scanned with that info not a note left at the door. How would a note be left at the door if there was an animal impeding delivery?

·11 months agoNot all mail boxes are on the front porch. Mine happens top be at the curb - outside of my fence in yard.
Could the seller cancel the order using "problem with buyer's address"?

·11 months agoI don't think there is nothing for you to do. The buyer knows that mail is not delivered to their addresses because of an animal and must go to the post office. I think it is considered officially delivered but waiting pickup.
