only 7 items listed eligible for an offer to be sent?
Summary: crowncrosse is frustrated that they can only send offers on 7 out of 250 listed items, suspecting a glitch similar to one experienced a year prior. Other participants, such as babyers88, explained that offers can only be sent if items are recently viewed or watched, suggesting it's not a glitch but a system rule. powell-collectibles noted that even with watchers, users might opt out of receiving offers. fern*wood advised ignoring the feature if it’s frustrating, while thriftyfiftyfifty and jonathanbrightlight pointed out that limited offer eligibility is a standard aspect of the platform, not necessarily a glitch.
How do i turn off this setting, I have 250 items listed and I cannot send an offer on 243 of my items? crazy!!!!!!!!!!

1) eBay decides when you can send an offer and to whom. It will be to buyers:
- with the item in their cart, or
- on their watch list, or
- who have looked at the item (called "heavy browse")
2) You can only send 1 offer to each watcher/interested party after that, you need to wait until a different person expresses interest, and then you will be allowed to send another offer.
- Each watcher will only get 1 offer from you, no matter how long they stay as a watcher.
- If the buyer has received too many other offers from other sellers on other items, eBay will wait a few days before allowing them to get more offers.
- A buyer can "opt-out" of offers, and then you can't send them at all.
TIP: If you want buyers to be notified of the lower price, you can either
- lower the price, or
- run a mark-down sale (requires a store subscription)
Potential buyers will be notified anytime you lower the price by 5%

·3 weeks ago"cannot send an offer on 243 of my items?"...I don't think you understand how Seller Offers actually work.

·3 weeks agoRight? When I check now, I can send offers on 601 of our listings, but that's out of 6,053 total listings. Usually you can't send offers on the vast majority of items, even those with watchers, because you've already sent offers to those watchers, or they don't want to receive offers and have disabled that option, or eBay has decided that it's ineligible for whatever reason. I don't think there's a glitch causing this.

OPSep 10, 2026 at 12:49 PMSo I had the same issue about a year ago and I was told by eBay to support there was a glitch in the system. They corrected it but the issue continued after I sent offers again. I was told that when I sent an offer for some reason the system thought that the offer was still out there instead of clearing it allowing me to send new offers. I've reached out to tech support and they have escalated my issues. Yes, I have a lot of watchers on a lot more than seven items so this definitely appears to be the same issue I had last year.

·Sep 9, 2026 at 10:20 PMWhy is this crazy? IMHO eBay is wise to not let sellers spam buyers with offers they have either (a) asked not to recieved; or (b) if they have declined your offer in the past.

·Sep 9, 2026 at 10:00 PM · EditedThe number of my listings eligible for an offer changes pretty much every day. I send a few and ignore the rest -- whether eligible or not. If it angers you that you can't send one on every listing, just ignore the whole thing.

·Sep 9, 2026 at 8:54 PM · EditedThat's alright, the other 243 offers would have been ignored anyway, just like the 7 you can send.

·Sep 9, 2026 at 8:38 PMyou cannot send a offer if no one is looking at, (recently viewed) or watching the item in question, sounds like only 7 of the listings met the criteria for offers.
in other words you can't send offers to ghost's
powell-collectibles
·Sep 9, 2026 at 8:40 PM · EditedAnd some of those “interested” eBay users might have opted out of seller offers.

·Sep 9, 2026 at 8:29 PMOnce upon a time someone bought all of my listings. It was only about 25-26 at the time, but it was weird to see everything just gone.
Books and vintage hats - packing was interesting.
So looks like there is now a ceiling on that.
