Offers No Longer Show Buyer Zip Code?
Am I losing my mind? I could have sworn the buyer's zip code was shown when they sent an offer. I only noticed in the past because I've gotten oddball amounts in an offer, and it was because the buyer was trying to make the purchase an even number with the shipping cost figured in (I checked and did the math). Am I misremembering this?

·11 months agoYes, zip code matters because of variables on shipping, even with free shipping. If a buyer is close to me and it's priority, I might accept a lower price than if they are across the country. I asked this same question and here is the answer I got:
"I have a lot of frustrations with the new Messaging system, however you CAN easily see the FB. It's just not intuitive LOL. At the top of every Message, you'll see the User's name in bold at the top of the screen. You can click on it & see their FB & navigate to the detailed FB page. It only tells you their country though, not the zip code. If they're a seller, you'll be able to navigate to their items from FB & then you can see where they are. The Bold Username is not in Blue, so no one realizes it's a hyperlink."

·11 months agoUnless you have free shipping, which does not look like you do, ZIP code should not be needed as the offers are only on the item not shipping. The shipping cost shown to the buyer remains the same offer or not.
If you receive emails along with messages the location of the buyer will be shown in your email but not in messages.

OP11 months agoI do get emails and the zip codes used to show up for me, even with my items set to calculated shipping but they don't anymore. Thanks!

·11 months agoI don't take offers but zip codes no longer appear in any of my buyer questions. It can be useful when considering shipping costs. The closer they live to you it may be cheaper if a seller uses flat rate.
I liked it because you could tell if a buyer was circumventing a block. I used to block buyers that asked for free stuff or absurd discounts and knew if ten minutes later the item sold to the same zip code. I think eBay does not want sellers to have this discretionary ability.

·11 months agosome of my shipping cost are absorb into pricing to make item look better. Sometimes on offers location matters. I wouldn't go so low on an item farther away. I prefer they just tell me state or country instead of zip so I don't have to look it up.
