Hi, has anyone had an issue with expired offers (from months ago) becoming active again?

I haven't sent offers in months and noticed that buyers were accepting offers over Christmas period. I logged in today to see "active offers" on 6 items that I hadn't sent offers for - I haven't sent any offers in months to test this. Ebay support was no help and suggested that a) my account had been accessed by a friend / family member who was sending offers on my behalf - this is not the case. Only I have access to my account. or b) I was sending offers by mistake/forgetting.

I've had to make all my listings inactive while they "escalate" this issue - even though they say it's not an issue?!

Super confusing!!

Hi @zwwardrobe . Sounds like you have automatic offers enabled.

When sellers initiate offers, eBay checks by default the option to send automatic offers. You need to turn off automatic offers otherwise eBay will keep sending them. This happens to a lot of sellers that rush through the offer process without looking at all of the settings.

Automatically send offers

You can save time by enabling offers to be sent automatically to buyers interested in your current listings . You can change the settings for your automatic offers by going to active listings and selecting the status With offers sending automatically. This filters all your listings with the automation setting enabled.

Select View Offer settings to manage your automation setting.

Here you'll be able to:

Enable or disable offers from being sent automatically
Adjust the automatic offer amount
Turn on or off counteroffers
Change your message

To turn off automatic seller initiated offers

Go to Seller Hub.
In the Search section, select the All statuses dropdown and filter for "With offers sending automatically".
Select Search.
Select View offer settings.
Select the > symbol next to Automatically send offers.
Set the blue switch next to Automatically send offers to Off.
Select Done.
Select Update offer settings.

Correction: Those instructions from the help page are for the old Seller Hub format. Since eBay changed the Seller Hub navigation, I believe the new path is to click:

All Filters > Status > then there should be an option under there for listings with automatic offers enabled.

Thank you for taking the time to reply. I do not/did not have automatic offers turned on. This was one of the first things I checked when I noticed offers being accepted.
