Offering discounts
Is there a way I can offer discounts on my item as I chose when I want to? Almost every time eBay affords me an opportunity to offer discounts on the items I have up for sale I will sell them but I have to wait for eBay to ask me to send offers!

·4 months agoNot sure if it's the same for everyone or not. Go to My ebay selling, Click on active listings. Right above the listings there should be a place to "send offers" Click on it and it shows your items that are available to send offers. There must be watchers to be able to send offers. It allows you to send an amount off, or a percentage. There's also a switch to make it one time, or to automatically renew the offer. You don't want that so make sure it's off. Again, not sure if everyone has this. Just make sure to really pay attention to what you're doing the first time. The list might be very long, but you can delete items from the list so you'll only be sending the offers you want. Hope this helps a little. No store needed. Again, look very carefully before acting. You don't want to send offers on items you don't want to.

·4 months agoI believe that banner appears when you manually lower the price of an item. A store isn't required for that. It does not automatically appear when you lower a price. I'm not sure what criteria eBay looks at to determine when a banner is warranted. It may factor in how much the price was lowered and perhaps buyer demand?

·4 months agoYou should try a Basic store subscription it's fairly inexpensive & it would allow you access to running sales & sending coupons.

·4 months agoA Starter store is five bucks a month and allows you 250 free listings a month. It's less than the cost of a fancy coffee, and you can run sales as often as you like. Plus, it may motivate you to list more.

·4 months agoUnless you have a lot more items to list, having a store will only cost you money.
You can only do "sales" with a store.
Only you can tell if the cost of a store is worth being able to do a "sale"
Marking down items or doing offers when allowed would seem to be a better option, than paying monthly for a store.

·4 months agoWhen ebay says "eligible to send offer", it means someone has looked at or watched your item. You are able to send offers to those interested parties.
If you want to be able to put certain items on sale or offer coupons, you need to subscribe to a store.

OP4 months agoYes, I have always had that on my items and yes, sometimes it is sucessful but I want to control when I offer discounts and not have eBay control when I can send the offers

·4 months agoIf you are talking about the "Offers to buyers" feature:
It isn't really about "eBay allowing you to send them", it's about "buyers becoming eligible to receive them".
Offers to buyers are unsolicited messages of a commercial nature - which is a fancy way of describing SPAM.
eBay very correctly and very wisely places limits on how much SPAM a seller can send to a buyer.
Another way to accomplish this is to simply lower your price.
