Not waiting until July 9 to update listings...
I have the daunting task of updating 11,000 listings. I'm not waiting until July 9.
First, they say if you put standard/economy, you don't have to change it. So I'm updating them to be either standard or economy (whether its FC/Ground or ESE).
I have 5 store categories left to update, they are the biggest ones accounting for around 4000 listings (the other 7000 have been done). But within these categories I switched over to "ebay categories" to nab all the tokens in one go, and the stamp collections, etc, etc, so some have been updated. I just have to manually select what's left and assign postage and shipping service to them.
Now I need to update my SixBit templates, which there are about 100 to do. Might be a good idea to delete some templates as well, that are on things I no longer list.
I'm not waiting for them to say I don't have a valid shipping service and interfere, and I don't like leaving things until later. I'm too busy for that. I figured I had time now to get most of them, so that's what I did. I am guessing that just like they give you a button to push to see which are promoted or eligible for promotion or offers, there will be a button for ones with invalid shipping when they do the update. That's just logical. Of course, this is eBay we're talking about.

You may be making the changes in SixBit more difficult than necessary.
You mention "templates" but you really need to just change/edit the shipping presets, SixBit will ask if you want to those edits to apply to currently listed Items, click yes and all your listings will update.

OP3 years agoI actually updated them on eBay's site because it was easier to use the bulk editing tool. Not a SixBit guru, so I didn't know about this trick. I did update the templates though for future listings.
The other reason this wouldn't work, I end listings on eBay and sell similar to put them up again to get new traffic, which I did to about 6000 listings... so the listing doesn't exist on SixBit and SixBit won't know what template was originally used.

If you want to get the most out of SixBit you should never make any changes directly on eBay, always make them from within SixBit.
