Not Delivered, but it is
Summary: rymar_1862 is a new seller on eBay, facing issues with items marked as in transit but confirmed received by buyers. They originally contacted the buyers to confirm delivery, but multiple participants advised against this. 1786davycrockett and others recommended waiting it out, as eBay's Standard Envelope tracking can be delayed. They assured rymar_1862 that payment should eventually process unless a case is opened by a buyer. rymar_1862 appreciated the guidance and agreed to follow the suggestions.
Hello, I'm a newer seller to eBay. I've been selling items for a little over a month now. I am now seeing that a couple of my items still aren't delivered. When looking at the tracking, it is still in transit (which means it knows it's shipped). When I contacted the buyers, they said they have received the item. I used eBay standard envelope, so when I look at the USPS site, it can't give me any information. So I don't have any evidence from tracking, but I can take a screenshot of the conversation with the buyers themselves. What should I do in this situation? Should I let it go a little longer, or should i open up a case? And if I open a case, do I have to call in? eBay wants me to use an ai chat and they can't understand squat.
Thanks for any help.

As davycrockett said, never contact a buyer regarding delivery. Just keep in mind that "no news is good news". If there is ever any kind of problem, the buyer will let you know. If you don't hear anything, consider that everything is okay.

Keep that in mind if a buyer claims they didn't receive it too.

Under NO circumstances should you contact a buyer to confirm that the buyer has received a delivery.
While you lucked out with your honest buyers, what if you had contacted a buyer who had NOT been honest?
Admitting to a buyer that the purchase has not been confirmed delivered is an open invitation for dishonest buyers to open up an "item not received" case against you.
There is NO need to put your selling status in peril by contacting a a buyer to confirm delivery.

OP1 month agoOk. Thanks @1786davycrockett for your advice, I can absolutely understand that. I do need to be more cautious. It's a shame that there could be dishonest buyers out there, and from what I've heard eBay sides with the buyers most of the time. So do you recommend I just let it ride out and see what happens? Even if a buyer opens an "item not received" case, would it penalize me? Because the tracking shows that it was in route and I can't control the USPS once they have control of it.

Yep -- that's exactly what I recommend.
Delivery status with the ESE is erratic -- sometimes it takes a week for the "Delivered" notification to be entered -- and I've had some ESEs that have yet to show being "Delivered"!
Unless your buyer opens an "item not received" case, do nothing.
You should receive your eBay payment within 30 days -- or much less, depending upon the number of successful sales which have been confirmed delivered.

OP1 month agoI should add, that my funds are on hold until 2 days after delivery, which may not ever happen. So what then?
