Not Allowed to Sell Germany Stamps...
Woke up today to an email to a listing taken off...
Not sure what to do?
Any thoughts?
Funny that this same set of stamps have still 56 listed...2 others which are mine...🥹
And it saids : 'May not ship to United States'.
I assume someone is mad at me and reported listing and it went through.
Could it be a blocked buyer or maybe a country I blocked?

Collectibles & Art > Stamps > Europe > Germany & Colonies
whereas mine are listed as : Stamps > Europe > Germany & Colonies
Besides the point, but I'm trying to figure how you got Collectibles & Art as the lead category versus Stamps as the lead category.

·5 months ago@cardxcraft The category trees are a Walking Dead hellscape of numerous programming changes left uncorrected. The categories/subcategories you have available to choose from in the listing creation page don't necessarily match the choices buyers can use in search, NOR what it says the pathway was, in the Item Description box.
What's extra screwy is when it's a cateogory of items that some people do collect but that's not the most obvious purpose -e.g. jewelry. When I create a listing I could put it in Collectibles>Jewelry, but I wouldn't do that because Jewelry is not one of the sub-categories available for buyers to select under Collectibles. Er sorry, it's called Collectibles & Art there, isn't it? Yeah that's what I'm saying, left hand not knowing what the right hand is doing.

·5 months agoThat’s really weird that a “may not ship to the United States” message would show up. That sort of message usually shows up for non-US buyers who are trying to buy from a seller who doesn’t have eIS or international shipping rates set up but hasn’t excluded international shipping locations in their business policies.
What shipping method was given in the listing, @12345jamesstamps?

OP5 months agoFree USPS domestic and free USPS International...no tracking...using just postage stamps.

·5 months agoSomeone is actively reporting coin, stamp and currency listings as a policy violation. I've had a couple taken down but all reversed on appeal. Not sure how to appeal now as I've always used the facebook reps and they are gone now.

·5 months agoI wonder if it's the same person who came in here a few months ago talking about reporting coin listings, and getting a hand slapping from eBay for making unfounded reports.

·5 months agoI would set them aside, relist them in 6-12 months, make the listing from scratch, don't mention Hitler, don't have any sort of international shipping available.

·5 months ago@onefootflipper Normally I would agree, but that second screenshot (something I've never seen before) seems to indicate that in this case the OP can simply revise this listing, and the problem will be resolved.

·5 months agoFrom what I have found over 23+ years is that if you make eBay A LOT of money you are able to sell almost anything with almost anything in the title. I cannot tell you how many of my listings have been taken down and many of the same things are still listed. Seems I am the only one that cannot list these items and if I flag a listing just like mine eBay says it's fine for them to list it but yours cannot be listed.

And listing is done correctly with shipping when I look it up if I want to appeal it...have no idea why it saids that.

·5 months agoThe red banner says 'Your listing was removed for violating our Offensive Material Policy.' I can only guess that maybe eBay designates materials as offensive to only some countries, and the U.S. is one of them in this case?
Normally stamps and currency are NOT considered offensive material even if they portray the images/names of bloodthirsty rulers, and/or symbols associated with their regimes. But things like propaganda posters, medals, etc. of those regimes ARE prohibited. The difference is easy enough to understand: If the article was something everybody had to use whether they agreed with the regime or not, then it's just historical, but if it was used to glorify the regime, then it's propaganda.
@12345jamesstamps Yeah, I strongly suspect the Item Specific: 'H!tler's 54th birthday issue' is what the bot honed in on. 🤣 Just don't type his name anywhere on any listing. Nor the 'Not-see' word. Nor the "3rd R" phrase. EDIT: Even 'WW2' brings up the caution pop-up if I recall.

I can't see that it violates any of ebay's policies.
Possibly, If the OP has his set up to ship to Germany, Austria, Italy or France,
That would trigger the violation.

OP5 months agoInteresting thought...but I have 2 more sets like that for sale.
And some other sellers do not block those countries of this set.
I think it was from a potential buyer or competitor...maybe from another country.

On a serious note, can you change the title to say "German" (rather than Germany) or "Deutschland" maybe? It looks like AI checked the report so show AI how creative you can be.

I went into all my listings this morning very fast and removed the word 'Hitler' in the 'description' of quite a few listings.
I don't get the 'may not ship to United States'...I am thinking it was an International person who reported it...a competitor who sees I have items for sale cheaper than him or a blocked buyer.

·5 months agoWhat I find strange is the Central Scrutinizer worrying over a long gone ruler who is no threat to us but a Chinese symbol (Who are a threat to us) in the message.
Life gets wierder every day...................................
