Non-paying Buyers
Has anyone had people bid on items and then win them and not pay or respond ? I ask for payment in 3 days, but at christmas (it was a santa decoration) i had to wait an additional 5 days for a buyer to respond to requests before i could relist it. The item was won on Dec.9. ?

·2 years agoYou may ask for payment in three days, but buyers have four days to pay. After 96 hours, cancel and then block NPBs.
Re-think running auctions. Nearly all yours end with just one bid, anyway. Most buyers do not like auctions, and auctions now account for less than 12% of eBay sales. List at Fixed Price with Immediate Payment Required, never use Best Offer, and - voila! -- nearly all the hassles disappear.

·2 years agoI quit doing auctions just for that reason.
I now do buy it now listings with immediate payment required.
Now I don't have to worry about it.
If they click the buy it now and don't pay, it stays as an active listing until someone pays for it.
If you want to continue doing auctions, don't send payment reminders as eBay does that, plus each time you send an invoice reminder, it resets the 4 days they have to pay.
After 4 days, file a non paying bidder. This gives them a strike and sellers can set buyer requirements to block bidders that have (I think) 2 strikes or more in a 12 month period.
Never give the buyer longer than the 4 days eBay gives them unless they have contacted you and worked something out that YOU are good with. Other wise, buyers can string you along for quite some time if you let them.

·2 years agoIt's become very common. Many sellers now list as fixed price / buy it now set to require payment right away to stop that.
Been a problem since the beginning of eBay. Now if those non payers were subject to the dunking stool.......
