·3 years agoComputers are all 0's & 1's but mostly 0's and that is exactly what my views for the most part have been for months on eBay! In my case i think I need to start deleting listings and make new ones with better titles, descriptions that may help since many are years old and just re list, re list them!

·3 years agoI am having this problem, too. I'm glad to know it's not just me but confused that it is even happening to high volume sellers and those who promote their items. I hope ebay get it fixed pretty quick. There is not much use to continue to try to sell here if no one sees your items. Thank you to your post and to the person who showed how they have benefited since the problems started. I have been selling on ebay long enough and have a variety of items to know that something is going wrong. I just thought it was because I choose not to pay extra to ebay to promote the items.

·3 years agoFor sure. But I am certain that not everyone complaining about poor sales had the 0 Page Views issue. In fact, I'd bet that most of them did not. That's my point, every single day for the past 28 years people have complained about sales & they all say 'this time is different'.
Keep in mind, we have absolutely NO IDEA if the poor sales have anything to do with the Page Views bug. They may, they may not. Correlation does not equal causation & a lot of people are assuming the 2 are related simply b/c of the timing correlation. As someone who has been in IT my whole life & worked a decade for the 3rd largest software company in the world, I'm not convinced the 2 are related. I don't even think Ebay knows right now.
gurlcat
·3 years agoI don't understand what you mean though. How could they not be related? How could you buy an item you never viewed? If someone suddenly stopped getting sales AND views overnight, how could there not be causation between no views and no sales?

·3 years agoIt may be a reporting issue, not an actual lack of views, and there really is no way to tell whether the two are connected. I'm finding the stall curious in my sales because it's unusual unless I stop listing and I have not stopped listing, and along with that I see these weird view stats. My solution so far is to be as consistent as possible in my own activity because that's the only thing really I can control at this time.

·3 years agoLogically, if no one can " view" your products, no one can buy them.
Wouldn't you think?
But we haven't worked for " the 3rd largest software company in the world", so what do we know.
Evidently, 1+1 CAN equal 3!
Go figure...

·3 years ago@gurlcat I don't disagree with you & it seems that there is something real going on, however, maybe consider the other viewpoint, which I have had at times myself. Many of us on this forum have been here since the beginning of Ebay & the beginning of the forums. I have & I am far from the only one. Most here have had over 20 years. There have been complaints about slow sales quite literally most every single day, since the forums started. Often MANY complaints & often with many people agreeing. Most of the time in the past 28 years (can't remember exactly when the boards started, but they've been around under different 'ownership' for much of that time, there has actually been nothing wrong with eBay & it's just normal ebbs & flows or off-base expectations. So I totally see & get both sides of the comments. 99% of the time, over the past 28 years, there has actually been no eBay problem.

·3 years agoSales? -Of course.
VIEWS? Going to zero overnight? -Definitely something wrong.
Also when it's not just a random seller but scores of them all at once. Obviously something wrong.

You're listing on eBay. Nuff said.

·3 years agoIf you're not listing on Ebay, why are you writing in the Ebay Community forums? Sincere question. Why?

·3 years agoCan you please post screenshots of your traffic tab please? We would really like to see your impressions/page view tabs showing zero and page views showing zero. Preferably the past 30-90 days that way we can give you the best advise possible for your specific situation of all of a sudden getting zero impressions & page views with 591 items in your store with 2 sales on May 1st and 1 sale so far on May 3rd(today).

·3 years agoAlso, just FYI I think Papagallo is spelled wrong in your title.
You know your sales better than I do, but I took a peek at your offerings & I will say that considering that the majority of your items are Walmart brands, the prices do seem high for WM items. I very rarely sell WM, so IDK, maybe they are commanding those prices, but it's just something I noticed.

·3 years agoOthers are experiencing it too, as per this thread. Ebay opened an ALERT on the 0 views & is now claiming it's been 'fixed', as stated in this thread. I also sell clothing & something is up for sure, it's ridiculously dead. I went 3 days w/o a sale at 3x your number of listings & I promote heavily. This is not normal & everyone didn't suddenly stop buying clothes.

·3 years agoStrange here, too - despite being a quite small seller, I have daily sales but they slowed to one a day, and then none, pretty abruptly. I'm used to ups and downs (they seem to be more pronounced the smaller one is) but they've always been dependent on whether I'm active on the platform or not - I absolutely *have* to list almost daily to be seen - but the drop is sudden. I realise clothing is super-saturated, but then again, it's something that everyone needs and uses, it's not like I'm selling unobtanium-plated toilet seats.
simply-the-best-for-you
·3 years agoYup, I'm normally good for 2 sales a day, no matter what. Even if I haven't been listing (though I have up until 2 days ago when I had a family emergency), I still typically get 2 sales a day. I went 3 days with no sales & around the that, the most I've had is 1 sale/day & all of those have been b/c of offers I've sent. Something is up for sure. Also, no ASQ's or anything else, just totally dead. I was also affected by the 0 Organic Views bug.

·3 years agoThere's currently people pretending like this doesn't happen in a thread I posted because "I sell clothing and that's saturated".
I explained to them dozens of times nearly everything I post has extremely high sellthrough (60-200%) and their canned response is to circle back to "Clothing and shoes are saturated" despite me promoting up to 10-15% and getting next to no views after undercutting all other listings.
If I can't even get window shoppers on this site, something's EXTREMELY wrong.
inhawaii
·3 years agoWhat do you want them to say?
"Everyone wants to buy your stuff but ebay is somehow preventing them from doing so."
aldelbertmatthew
·3 years agoAcknowledging that there's an issue would be great and pretending that there isn't some giant 16 page thread of people really angry at the moment.
Along with pretending like there isn't multiple major Youtube eBay reseller channels saying the site's broken and you might want to start cross-listing to keep sales consistent.

·3 years agoExcept there have been widespread issues reported concerning organic views.
Incidentally, mine 'caught up' this morning, where there were 0 showing, there are now multiples (and more than I would expect depending on item) - one shot up 36%.
gurlcat
·3 years agoThis is at least the 3rd visibility glitch I've experienced or observed since I started selling in 2018. The first was in 2019, when they implemented new item specifics for clothing (right in the 4th quarter too -yippie!). And clothes were my main category at that time, not that it was my intent but that summer I had foolishly bid to win a 2000 square foot abandoned storage unit full of boxes with unknown content ... which turned out to be the yet-unsorted donations for a local charity thrift store that had gone defunct (thus they let the unit go). It was at least 95% clothes, which I had ZERO interest in selling, but had no choice but to try.
The clothes were everything from Walmart with holes and stains to vintage NOS Bloomingdales with the tags still on, and everything in-between, but I had almost no knowledge about fashion, so talk about a crash course! I managed to quickly figure out which items to list, how to photograph, measure and describe them, get them to sell with minimal returns. I shocked myself with how much I actually enjoyed it and how much money I was making, so much that I nearly quit my jobby-job but instead reduced my hours to only 10 or so a week, so I could devote more to this enormous hoard of clothes. Then RIGHT when it was time to start shopping for Christmas, and my car broke down, and half a dozen other things that needed paying for, my sales just FROZE, and not just sales but VIEWS. And I got this same response from people here "Clothing is a saturated category" -Oh really, so it wasn't saturated until one day about two weeks ago?
Then almost exactly a year ago, May 25 2022, a bunch of us started experiencing a similar free fall in sales and views. This time it didn't appear to be category-specific, so the "It's not Ebay" people could only assert that it was the economy, people having no money to spend. But again ...overnight? Really? We were showing our view count graphs, how dramatically the bars plummeted on May 25th. And as I stated then, even when people are broke, THEY STILL WINDOW-SHOP.
This time, I'm catching a break, in fact if anything I'm benefitting from others' reduced visibility (see my graph in my reply above). And I find it utterly shameful that people who aren't being hurt by this could be so cold and try to gaslight those who are.

·3 years agoCan you clarify "60-200%" @aldelbertmatthew? Was that a typo? How does an item have a sell through rate of higher than 100%?
joliztoyco
·3 years agoAre you using Promoted listings?
Unless you're willing to pay ebay 30% of your sales, nobody will see them anymore.
Sellers not using them have their items buried beneath thousands of sellers who are in the search function.
Do what we did.
Just quit selling on ebay.

·3 years agoI see that you had enough also and walked out the Ebay door also. Your NOT Alone......

·3 years agoPeople affected by this glitch have been experimenting with jacking up their promotions sky-high, if ONLY to see whether that's the issue ...but in this case it is not; it does not make a difference, nor does slashing prices, ramping up new listings, end/sell similar'ing old listings, NOTHING seems to matter for the accounts affected.

I'm one of the lucky unaffected sellers. Well actually not unaffected; I appear to be BENEFITTING from the sudden disappearance (or at least the search-deprioritization) of so many sellers. All these posts about sudden zero views began April 25th. Now look at mine. Coincidence? Yyyyyyeahhhh, no.

·3 years agoI couldn’t even begin to explain it. But I can guess.
You sell in two of the most highly saturated categories on eBay. Shoes and clothing. We are only into the third day of the month. Let’s see what the rest of the month brings.
gurlcat
·3 years agoPlease don't take this as bitterness, but if you can't explain something why make a guess, namely one that makes the op sound like a fool, based on their choice of inventory. Imagine if this was happening to you, and someone replied to "inform" you that audiobooks on CD is a saturated market, or that it's outdated, "Who even has a CD player anymore?" Or maybe they say your prices are too high, or you're not promoting enough. In other words it's not Ebay; it's YOU ....but you KNOW your category, and you KNOW your views and sales were doing great but all of a sudden, literally overnight, it's like you're an invisible ghost on the platform.
