People will blame the economy. It's not the economy, it's eBay. They're constant push for promoted listings will be the end of this site. They seem to be taking every dime they can from sellers while they are still around. Everyone knows there is no natural growth on the site. At this point I wouldn't recommend anyone start a business with them. 2 years ago that would have been a different answer. I've never seen a company make changes so drastic and NEVER once for the better.

eBay does that. After a while, they will dim your lights & shine them more brightly on other sellers. It is a random event. Sales will come back but expect this to happen again. Just hope it doesn't happen to you for a lengthy period of time. It lasted so long with me that I canceled my store & vastly reduced my listings & time spent trying to make money here. I went from 80-100 sales a month down to single digits. Today, I made more on Marketplace then I had in any month on eBay since fall of 2021 (except 1). My best advice is don't pay attention to the "only sell what is in demand" & "sell what people want" crowd. No one has the pulse on what millions & millions of buyers want. Good luck! 🙂
“There are, it has been said, two types of people in the world. There are those who, when presented with a glass that is exactly half full, say: this glass is half full. And then there are those who say: this glass is half empty. The world belongs, however, to those who can look at the glass and say: What's up with this glass? Excuse me? Excuse me? This is my glass? I don't think so. My glass was full! And it was a bigger glass! Who's been pinching my beer? And at the other end of the bar the world is full of the other type of person, who has a broken glass, or a glass that has been carelessly knocked over (usually by one of the people calling for a larger glass) or who had no glass at all, because he was at the back of the crowd and had failed to catch the barman's eye. â€
Did you ever have a week with great sales - much higher than your average week? Did you come to these boards to ask what was wrong? Of course not - that’s just variability in sales. Same with your unusually bad week.
if, on your good week, you attributed success to your selling prowess and/or natural variability in sales, do the same with the slow week. Makes life easier, and keeps you free from the tendency to blame
This has happened to me before - it's very frustrating but not at all uncommon. There is enormous competition on this site. You need to just keep listing regularly, and try not to take such a short view - look at month to month stats instead. I've found out with the ups and downs I have it still all evens out, and my sales can be sometimes wildly fluctuating (I have much fewer items).
All I do is keep listing and keep being active on the site.
How can telling someone (who came here asking) why their sales have suddenly stopped be considered mean?
I tell it like it is. If you consider than mean, that's your opinion I guess.
Cuz! This is America, the New World... You're supposed to tell people what they want to hear and if that happens to be truth cool beans, you get to add 30 points to "Chance" on you're Yahtzee score.
I suppose could be more delicate yes?
"You're inventory is dead... I am sorry for you're loss but I do believe in resurrection."
The most compassionate thing a person can do with one of these posts is to tell the truth. Sure it might make the poster Feel better to have people tell her that someone has flip the switch or beat around the bush by telling her that all sales are slow.that doesn’t help the poster one bit. The honest truth is what he stated – there should be no sugarcoating it.
you know what I consider mean? Mean would be telling her that nothing is her fault. Mean would be telling her that some shadowy force is affecting her sales. Negative people like for everyone to feel helpless. Positive people want others to understand that their destinies are in their hands.
Unfortunately ebay sometimes "flips the switch" on you but you would have to do some comparisons to your other sales venues to know if that is the case. And sometimes it is just the ebb and flow of ebay but you really need that outside data to be sure.
I am currently experiencing some of my lowest sales ever on ebay yet all the other venues I use are doing the same as they always do with one (Marketplace) exceeding the norm and way outpacing ebay which is pretty sad since I only do local sales on there and don't ship. So in my case I know ebay "flipped the switch" on me and I just have to wait until they turn it back on. It has happened to me before but you can't really fret on it. I just put my main focus on whichever site is giving me the business and add more listing to that venue.
Do you have a few years of sales history by month to compare this February with past Februarys?
7 days may simply be a dip in sales in your categories which appear to be focused around sewing. Perhaps folks aren't looking to sew this week or may have purchased from other Sellers.
You have sold about 172 items in the last 90 days which is about 1.9 per day.
In comparison, since specific eBay changes in early 2022 my account has seen a slow and measurable decline in sales for 2 years and nothing I have tried has reversed the trends and patterns that emerged. I have kept monthly sales totals (number of sales and gross Item dollars) for every month for 9 years of selling. We're talking 2023 being just over 10K behind the previous year and over 12K behind the year before that. That's not chump change.
I sincerely hope your sales get back to what you expect but at times dips in sales happen and hopefully that is all it is for you and not something else.

Sales are like that. Some weeks you'll sell like your items are the hottest items of the week. While other weeks all you get are crickets.

My eBay sales go up and down
Up and down like a Merry Go Round
My eBay sales go up and down
I long to hear the Cha-Ching sound
My eBay sales go here and there
Far away and I know not where
My eBay sales go here and there
I believe I am loosing all my hair
My eBay sales I want so bad
Do I promote oh I'm so mad
My eBay sales I want so bad
Conspiracies thrive oh I'm so sad
My eBay sales I just got one
Oh joy, oh joy time have some fun
My eBay sales I just got one
Boy oh boy I'm the best bar none
My eBay sales are my life you see
S'Right, S'right all I'll ever be
My eBay sales are my life you see
Mom and Dad be so proud of me...

It is NOT a joke.
Want proof??
Sell $20 bills for 5 bucks.
Bet you well 1000 a day.
So, here's a poem for you
Your items are stale
They sell like a snail
Obviously nobody cares
Or you'd be a millionaire!

How were your sales in February 2023? 2022? 2020?
(We skip 2021 because of the pandemic surge in online buying)
The main problem is that you are taking too short a view.
Use the time to run inventory and see that everything you have in stock is actually listed and that nothing you have sold has relisted itself.
