No response to Notice of Dispute to eBay legal in Utal
Got the following message when I attempted to go onto the tread I started on this topic on Oct. 10: No messages from eBay advising access cut. Hate to be a conspiracy theorist but had posted that I received a default judgment against eBay for failing to respond to 5 different Notice of Dispute emails, 3 of which were by certified mail, return receipt request, and return receipt received.
Seems odd to say the least.

·10 months agoMaybe it’s Khoros, or maybe maybe it’s eBay who have actual legal help on staff and understand that it’s never a good idea to discuss such matters online or in public.
They might actually be doing you a favor.

I probably wouldn't want something like that on my help boards.
I wouldn't call it a conspiracy...
moreso maybe a business policy they have?

OP10 months agothis was only thing i found on the community guidelines:
my thread was not calling for lawsuits. it dealt with ebay's dispute resolution provision in their user agreement which provided if a notice of dispute had not been addressed to the satisfaction of the buyer/seller who filed the notice, then either a small claims action (if within small claims jurisdictional limit) or arbitration could be commenced.
i requested that arbitration be commenced. it's been over 150 days and no response from ebay which is why the small claims action was initiated, exactly as ebay's own user agreement suggested.
can hardly see how following ebay's own stated procedure could be construed as calling for lawsuits. ebay directed this was the path to follow.
yes, i wouldn't want this type of public discourse if i were a company but then again it would behoove ebay to follow its own procedures.

·10 months agoI noticed it as well. Not the first time I've seen a fairly new thread closed "due to the age of this thread".
It happens now and then for whatever reason.........................

·10 months agoYou may be overestimating the importance of your thread. Khoros does the monitoring here, not Ebay.Could just be coincidental that it was discarded,or Khoros just decided it wasnt appropriate for this board.

OP10 months agoLorsque la communauté demande si eBay a été traduit devant un tribunal des petites créances ou si quelqu'un a eu gain de cause contre eBay, il semblerait que la communauté soit intéressée.

OP10 months agonothing in email or spam. nothing in messages from ebay. nothing on feedback profile. just nothing.
again, the "old" thread which was closed is not the thread which was removed.
a new thread was started on october 11. obviously NOT an old thread. no reason for it to be closed.
when that thread was opened, i got a flag or smiley face or whatever kudos are handed out for starting a new conversation. it is that thread, opened three days ago that is mia.

·10 months agoThe only way Khoros cleans out/sees old threads is when someone posts in it again; then they close it due to age. Again, that thread was started almost a year ago.

yes, see that thread (by cristco, not costco) was opened on january 6, 2025. between september 11 and october 10 there were 13 posts on this thread. at that point it was closed by kh-tuna who advised open a new thread if you want to continue the discussion.
i opened a new thread on october 11, got a merit badge for opening it, it had around 36 responses in the three days since it was opened, and now it has disappeared.
my question is: if a three day old thread was closed, why?
it has nothing to do with being an old thread.

The thread you OP'd 2 days ago: Everyone can see the title in the URL, and it's completely different. The two threads are not the same thread.
When it's public-facing in feedback or on the boards, eBay keeps a grip on mentioning case outcomes. Hence the outcome of your post, even if it's only in internal policy.

OP10 months agoyes, that is my point. the thread where the op was costco, while an old thread, had 6 or 8 posts in the week before it was closed. When the moderator closed it he said if you want to continue this conversation to open a new thread which I did and can no longer find. that thread was opened on oct. 11, as in three days ago, and now it seems to have disappeared.

·10 months agoI recall the new thread you posted. It was not closed, it has been completely removed.
You can click on one of the kh-xxxxx members and send them a message to ask why. Some will accept a message, some will not, sometimes they will answer and sometimes they will not answer.

Old threads get turned off/shut down all the time.
The thread was 10 months old and was 'closed' by Khoros (forum peeps).
Last post, by Khoros reads:
Hi everyone,
Due to the age of this thread, it has been closed to further replies. Please feel free to start a new thread if you wish to continue to discuss this topic.
Thank you for understanding.

OP10 months agoI did start another one and it's this one. As responded to simba6, the thread I opened which now says access denied was only opened 3 days ago.

OP10 months agoThat newly opened thread had something like 36 responses in the last three days since opening. I accessed it early this morning but when I tried to access later got the "access denied" message.

·10 months agoThe thread you are referring to was posted on January 2025 you commented on it October 10 that thread was closed by moderators on the same day October 10th due to age.
