No Bid Retraction count on Buyer Feedback???
Summary: mr_lincoln noticed that eBay no longer displays the number of bid retractions on a buyer's feedback history, questioning if it was intentional or a glitch. hartungcards pointed out that the feature was inaccurate, suggesting it might have been removed rather than fixed. a_c_green confirmed the change and explained a workaround to access similar information, though they noted it was cumbersome. They also discussed approval processes affecting post visibility and speculated on programming changes potentially caused by developers unfamiliar with the platform's intricacies.
I just noticed today that when you click the Received as Buyer tab on a Buyer's Feedback history eBay is no longer showing the number of Bid retractions they have in the last 12 months.

I am wondering if this is intentional or just missing from the weekly server update eBay has historically processed every Thursday? Knowing which Buyers abuse the Bid retraction process on auction listings is important information. Any insights you can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Just a follow up on this from last month ... are there any insights on this topic? I noticed the Bid Retraction count is still missing on Feedback histories.

·3 weeks ago · EditedOh, you're right.
If it's any consolation, the bidder's record seems to still be available on the Bid History page of an auction (at least until someone from eBay reads this):

Thank you for the reply. Hmmm ... I can review the Bid history but cannot find where the Bid History: Bidder Details page is you are showing. Just spent some time trying to find that ...

·3 weeks ago · EditedApparently my reply got edited. (I originally had the four-letter name of a species of fish in between the "Oh" and the "you're" in my original reply here, which seems to have caused some pearl-clutching.) You have to log out of your selling account first, so that you can then click on the disguised bidder ID on the Bid History page, which will then produce that popup.

-Your original reply also did NOT yield a Notification for me that you replied but your 2nd post did.
-Thanks for letting me know how you got to that pop-up, thought I was losing my mind trying to find it LOL!
-Between you and me, that is way too much work to find that info and I suspect you are right, if they are expunging the site of important info for Sellers that pop-up may be next ...

·3 weeks ago · EditedYes, apparently my original reply had to go through some sort of "approval" process, I think due to the screenshot image included, and the approval process does not trigger the same notification that you get for a straight reply with no images or external links.
Something else I noticed was that a paragraph I had added to that post on how you find the 30-day popup info was nowhere to be seen. It appears that once the pending post is "approved" (in its original form), it supersedes whatever revisions I might have done to that pending post in the meantime.
Yes, assuming the first removal was intentional, that second location will probably get flushed as well.
If the work was being done by programmers who actually use this site, they would have known to address that area. Instead, a lot of this appears to be done by European contract programmers who are not familiar with either this site or the U.S. in general.
For example, for literally years, the sale confirmation email showing the buyer's address presented it in European format, with the Post Code preceding the City name, and the State Abbreviation completely missing (since of course Europe doesn't have our State abbreviations); e.g.
Homer Simpson
742 Evergreen Terrace
12345-6789 Springfield
This has now been partially corrected: the confirmation email with the Subject line of "Your shipping label is ready" now has the City and ZIP Code in the correct order, but is still missing the State Abbreviation, and now the Street Address line is missing as well; e.g.
Homer Simpson
Springfield, 12345-6789
(The email's subtitle text also shows the Ship-By data in European format, DD-MM-YYYY; e.g. "Ship by 18-09-2026")
To be clear, I have nothing against European programmers; I am one myself. What I do find endlessly irritating is the non-AI slop that seems to pervade every programming project on this site.

-Post approval process: what we DO know is that any image with text in it has to go through a review during the platforms operating hours which ends around 10 PM PDT. On weekends it may take longer than during the week. My OP took time to get approved since my image had text in it.
-When editing a post the addition or changes will not upload until you click refresh on the browser ... learned that one too for the same reason you mentioned.
-I think one of the key points you made and I have made too on numerous occasions is that the programmers are NOT users ... or if they are they are lightweights and don't know the ins and outs of the venue like heavy users do.

·3 weeks agoI think that thing was busted anyway. I have no more than 2 bid retractions in the last 5 years, and it always said I had 10 bid retractions in the last 12 months. I talked to a CS rep about this once, and of course they told me, "Well, you must have made 10 bid retractions in the last 12 months." I think they just decided to deep six that thing instead of trying to fix it.
