Newbie seller requesting a page audit because crickets...
Hey folks. I just started reselling mostly womens clothing about 3 months ago on all platforms, and about one or two months ago on Ebay. I've made a handful of sales total, but my ebay sales have been non existent the last couple of weeks. I'm wondering if something about my listings is wrong, or if i goofed somewhere that's turning buyers away? Would anyone be able to give me their honest feedback?
I am open to all ! Thank you so much in advance.

·2 years agoEverything looks great (though the Missoni for Target isn't vintage - vintage is 20 years old or older), I think your prices are just too high on many of your things - clothing here is very plentiful and a lot of it only goes for a few dollars. You have better brands, though, and superior presentation - I'd consider dropping them by about $5, but you can try it a few dollars at a time.
Also it takes a while to get traction here. Of all markets, clothing seems to be one that goes more by referrals, repeat buyers, etc., more than some others.

OP2 years agoAhh thank you so much! Yeah that's fair. I guess I need more items for a few dollars less per item, huh. I was wondering if it was an algorithm issue, because when I first joined I had three sales in one week off the bat, and then nothing.

·2 years agoNew seller boost (most selling sites have that) and you also may have had several have to have items. Basically it's the same here as it is everywhere - staying active on the platform is important, and photos matter - your photos are fine.

OP2 years agoGreat. Thank you. One more thing!! I have wondered...does it make a difference (in getting one's listings seen by staying active) if I list once a day, versus if I list 5 per day? As long as it's everyday? Hope that makes sense.

·2 years agoNew seller boost? Perhaps it is simply that the most attractive items get snapped up quickly, leaving the less attractive items to stagnate.

·2 years agoIt's very common on selling sites to give a new seller a slight boost in visibility (I've sold on at least eight sites) although if you read past that, I also said it could been have-to-have items as well.

·2 years agoYour listings look great.
I price checked one item that was easy to price check and you had one of two on ebay and were more expensive by $10. The No Scrubs shirt. You have a medium at $30 and there has been a small sitting unsold a long time at $20. Yeah, I know the size is different.
Most of the time when people are not getting sales their prices are too high.
However in clothes it is also possible to have brands that just won't sell at any price. I am not a clothing seller, so I have no idea which brands sell and which don't.

OP2 years agoThanks so much for taking the time out of your day to do that, and respond! I should probably go through and drop prices a few dollars. Otherwise, it's comforting to know that I'm headed in the right direction. Since I'm new, I'm still researching the brands that have the most value, so theres definitely a learning curve.
Thanks again!!

OP2 years agoWelp. I'm not changing markets. So I guess I will just have to get better at sourcing!! Thanks for the infographic

OP2 years agoThanks for this. I like your positivity. I've been watching a lot of youtube vids and listening to podcasts. Ive gotten my hands on a few new BOLO Brand lists that I'm hoping will enhance the next sourcing trips. I live nearby some areas with a lot of money, so I don't see why I shouldn't be able to score at the thrift.
Any advice for making a listing stand out? Thanks for your feedback!

@chapeau-noiris right -- first order of business is to remove that "vintage" designation from the Target Missoni.
And heads up -- when social media accounts tell you a sales price, I would take that with a grain of sale until you see the sale posted in their eBay account with your own eyes. What sounds too good to be true may very well be...

I think this post sums it up nicely and is worthy of this repeat ...
I would however caution about listing the same item on multiple platforms, the day will come when an item sells on more than one platform and you will have to honor the eBay sale and cancel on the other site.

·2 years agoI use a monthly markdown schedule where I drop everything by 3 percent. This sort of thing will eventually catch any overpricing mistake.
