new ungraded card standards?
These NEW eBay ungraded card standards are not good at all. There are 4 catagories but I will just address the top 2. NM/M allows for several flaws that a grading service, at best, would grade them as EX. Then the worst is the next one, eBay calls it EXCELLENT. I will not put the descriptors here but READ IT for yourselves. The flaws that it allows would get it a grade of VG at best or say PSA 4. BEWARE!! Bottom line this new eBay grading is going to allow sellers to get away with selling very rough cards. SHAME! SHAME! on you ebay for allowing this to get posted. More and more it looks like eBay is just after the $$$ they can generate.

·1 year agoWhats worse is sellers are taking pics (angles that hide it, lighting) so you cant see the actual damage to the card…ship it out…then when you receive the card and look under the light there is damage like scratches, indentations, dings, creases and so on. But here is the biggest problem…say that same card was sent to an authenticator…they are authenticating it and sending that damaged card to you. You trusted that the authenticator wouldnt let a damaged card like that get sent to you and it did. So it seems sellers intentionally mask the flaws with how they take pics and/or non discosure of the damage knowing once the authenticator sends it you that they just got away with frauding you. If I buy a $400 nm-mint card that gets sent to authentication I sure dont expect the card to come to me with 10 scratch lines on front, dinged corners and 10 scratch/indentation lines on the back. And these authentication sales are typically “final sale†which is **bleep** so its hard to get a return which is not fair. I have received 5 cards in a row now from authentication that should have been sent back to the buyer. There was no way anyone with common sense and 2 good eyes would have ever said they passed. So now I cant buy anymore cards over $250 because if you receive a not as described or damaged card you have to fight ebay to return it. Buyers cant trust that program if this is how it works.
