New store, client asking to pay in installments via PayPal

Question

Good morning (from South Africa.... where its morning now ðŸ™‚

I have a buyer who would like to purchase but pay over three months in installments through PayPal. As far as I can see I cannot link PayPal to my eBay account. In addition to this when I set up my shop I opted for "buy it now"

Is there a way to accept this offer? The buyer has a good rating and Im willing to accept but I cannot seem to see how to go about this...

If the buyer is using PayPal to make their payment PayPal has a few different credit arrangements available to their users but that is entirely between PayPal and the Buyer. The seller will never know if it is being used because they get the full payment.

You can't do that. The buyer can do a payment option with paypal but that is between them and paypal, not eBay / you / the buyer. eBay doesn't use paypal as their payment processer anymore. They haven't for a few years now. When a buyer uses paypal to pay for an eBay item, eBay expects the payment in full and they do the actual processing to the seller. Tell your buyer to look on paypal for any payment offers they may be qualified for. Other than that, you can't really help them with their request.

Your buyer maybe referring to PayPal's Pay in 4 where the buyer makes payments in 4 installments. They would need to go through PayPal for that.

Good morning from the US and congrats on your sale. If the buyer pays you directly thru eBay via Paypal, paypal will give them choices of setting up an installment plan, so that's between your buyer and paypal. You'll get your full payment regardless. Now if they are asking for your Paypal account to pay you directly, they are trying to scam you. Please be careful. Customers can only pay thru the payment options that eBay offers. They cannot pay you directly.
