New seller, payouts held because tracking isn't updating to "Delivered." Looking for advice
Summary: trainersforgetcg is experiencing account restrictions on eBay due to orders not updating to "Delivered" despite buyer confirmations. They sell trading cards and use USPS's eBay Standard Envelope, which lacks full tracking. jonathanbrightlight mentions funds typically release in 30 days if no "Delivered" status is available, while mam98031 advises on understanding eBay policies before selling. trainersforgetcg clarifies confusion about tracking and restriction causes, acknowledging mixed messages from customer service and USPS. thelongball suggests the issue might relate to initial selling limits rather than tracking alone.
Hi everyone,
I started selling on eBay about a month ago. I sell trading cards, mostly Pokemon, plus some Riftbound and Magic: The Gathering.
My account is now restricted and my payouts are on hold. The reason given is that some of my shipped orders never updated to "Delivered" on the carrier side. Those orders still show only "Shipped," even though the buyers have them.
I know the cards arrived because:
Several of these buyers left positive feedback.
One buyer posted a photo of the card next to the handwritten note I include in every mailer.
I messaged a few buyers to check. One replied right away that the card had arrived, but eBay wouldn't let them leave feedback normally, so they had to find a workaround to post it.
I called customer support to explain. The rep told me that unless every order on or before a certain date shows "Delivered," my account stays restricted and there's nothing I can do. The call got tense and then the rep hung up.
I'm trying to do this the right way, and I have proof that these orders were delivered. My questions:
Has anyone gotten a hold like this lifted when the carrier scan never updated?
Is there a better contact than phone support, such as a specific team, messaging, or the eBay Community, that can look at buyer feedback and photos as proof?
Do the funds release automatically after a set number of days even if tracking never updates?
I ship with USPS and use eBay Standard Envelope. Any advice would help a lot.
Thanks,
DJ

·2 weeks agoFrom what I can see your orders are showing delivered as you have 117 automatic feedbacks left by eBay. You may be restricted because in the beginning they give you a selling limit.

·2 weeks agoI always encourage new sellers to do their homework BEFORE starting to list on Ebay. It is a JOB and should be treated as such. For the very basics, you should be reading the User Agreement you agreed to so that you could start selling on this site. As well as policy pages on HOW TO list an item as well as the policy pages on how your money is processed. These are just the basics. Lots more to learn, but you really should do your homework BEFORE listing your first item.
When funds will be available
You can see when your funds will be released in Seller Hub or My eBay. However, your funds may be unavailable for longer if we have concerns about the order.
Here are some situations where transaction holds could be applied to a seller's funds and when those funds would typically be released.
A brand-new private seller
New private sellers will typically receive their funds within 2 days after delivery confirmation (for items sent with an ebay label), 7 days after delivery confirmation (for items sent with a third-party label), or 31 days after the buyer pays (for items sent without tracking) while they build a consistent track record. Once they've qualified to receive their funds faster, they'll typically receive their funds within 2 days of the buyer’s payment.

OP2 weeks agoAfter re-reading my post I feel like an idiot, I believe there was an account restriction placed on my account and customer service iterated to me that it was because my items had no tracking? But the cases didn't provide me with any option to either refund the customer or reach out to them. After contacting customer service today they've told me they've pushed the 2 refund's through on their end but it's still showing as active cases on my account.
Then second, I guess I'm just confused because USPS keeps telling me that the eBay standard mailers aren't supposed to be scanned and don't have "any tracking" on them whatsoever.
In regards to receiving payment I appreciate your commentary, I think my misunderstanding is coming from some eBay reps are saying yes those mailers get scanned and have some kind of carrier information, then USPS telling me "no we can't scan those".

OP2 weeks agoFollow up to this
I was told my account is restricted because my mailers aren't showing as delivered, I think I did a poor job of explaining that in my post.

·2 weeks agoTypically the funds will be released in about 30 days. There's nothing else you can do if you don't have a Delivered status, though sometimes ESE shipments will update later, I've understood.
