New seller , $600 item - Buyer sends me their email, unprovoked. Is this a scam?

·2 years agoNot necessarily an actual scam, the buyer may just be trying to do on off eBay transaction so that you save on fees and can pass some of that on to the buyer via a discounted offer.
That said I would NOT touch this with a 10 foot pole!
This buyer may be setting you up for an off eBay fake payment notice scam, there is no point in getting involved in this, I would cease communication.

·2 years agoOne more thing, do not end the listing, since this person sent you their contact info, if you end the listing eBay may assume you are doing an off eBay transaction, that will cost you money and possibly your account.
New seller with reasonably high value item, makes you a target.
