New feedback viewing page?
Sorry if this was discussed and I missed it...
Today I am seeing a different looking page when viewing a person's feedback. Looks like you can sort it different ways, but I cannot figure out how to see the "feedback left for others" with the new screen. All I could see is the feedback received for that person.... whether they were a buyer or a seller.... could not find feedback that they left for sellers....
As I seller, when I receive an offer, i almost ALWAYS look at the feedback that the potential buyer has left for others before I decide to accept their offer. I am going to be very unhappy if that isn't something we can NOT do anymore!!!!
Did I miss how you can view that info? I tried but gave up and then went back to classic view.

·1 year agoI just got the new screen today. I still have the option to switch to Classic view.
But why is this even being changed? I use the desktop exactly because the app does not have what I need. I do not want the desktop to look like the app. And I want to see feedback left for others.

·2 years agoWhy would this even be considered? Certainly no sellers or buyers would have asked that all relevant information be removed. Being able to see feedback left is one way of sellers trying to protect themselves from potential scammers or buyers who leave a disproportionate quantity of negative feedback for sellers. Being able to see the country and when the buyer registered is also key information. It feels like ebay makes changes and then waits to see how much backlash they receive before reconsidering and maybe realizing that the change was not a good idea.

OP2 years ago@mam98031 Yes, I am thankful for the switch back to the classic view!! However, that will most likely go away in the near future.
As others have said, being able to see feedback left for others is one of the few things sellers have left in order to try and protect themselves.

·2 years agoNot necessarily, at least not for a long time. If you think about it, the so called new email program they announced in the Summer Seller update is not really new. It has been around for at least a couple years now. You can still switch back and forth between the newer version and the old version.
But I honestly don't know. We should have it for awhile, clearly they are still tweaking it. I however am in the classic view and there is no where for me to click back to this awful new view.
mam98031
·2 years agoYou can click back to the Classic View. The icon is on the upper right side.
Once you do this, I do not find a way to switch back. Maybe it will show up later, who knows!!!

OP2 years ago"Feedback left for others" is not an option for me to view.
I posted a question on this topic late last night, and wanted to bump it up for the day crowd. In that thread, we were trying to figure out if it was a test or if it will be rolled out to everyone. It seems as if a lot of people don't have this "new" view yet.
Feedback pages look different on my desktop as of last night. It sounds like it is the version that mobile users see... I do have the option to switch back to classic view (for now.)
As a seller, I use that section (feedback left for others) on a daily basis and do not want it to go away!

·2 years agoIf it helps the seller, I'm sure eBay won't let us see it anymore.
It's our only defense against a punitive potential buyer.
I saw the new view last night for the first time. I was able to switch back to the old view. I'm not sure how long it will last.

·2 years agoEvery time I get that truncated feedback page, I click on the ? question mark.........choose "shopping" as the reason I was looking and comment........I want to see ALL feedback, not just selected comments.......
Might do some good if everyone did that........who knows?
Don't have the"new" look...........and agree it's an abomination.........they still haven't listened/responded to the overwhelming negatives (at least on this board) about the "relevant versus recent" default sort......so doubtful they will listen............but won't hurt to give it a shot............

OP2 years ago@a_c_green I was using my desktop. I cannot find "feedback left for others" with the new layout. Extremely disappointing. This new layout is not "seller" friendly in my opinion.

·2 years agoOh, okay... well, in any case, the mobile app is worse. 🙄
I have noticed that of the several ways you can go looking for a user's feedback page, they mostly lead to a dumbed-down partial page (i.e. what you're seeing) that makes you dig for the further details that used to be available up front.
If I remember right, the quickest way to bring up the fully-functional older page is to click on one of the feedback counts in the table of Positive/Neutral/Negative - One Month/6 Months/12 Months data. No way to tell how long it will be before that shortcut is removed as well.

·2 years ago@jjddmwi : Were you using the mobile eBay app on a phone? I noticed the same thing when trying to view feedback on mobile. There is no apparent way to bring up the user's Feedback Left for Others.
The other replies above seem to be all referring to the desktop browser view, where you can find the Left for Others tab on the "classic" view (or whatever they're calling it), but if you're on mobile, I think you're sunk.

Unfortunately, I could not find any "tell us what you think" link.... I was certainly looking for one... that is why I came here to see if it was being discussed. Thank you for replying.

OP2 years ago@slippinjimmy - what you are seeing, is what they are calling the classic view... and that is the one I am used to. I put some screen shots above of what I saw today.

·2 years agoSee above screenshots @kyle@ebay . Can you find out if this is a test or a phased rollout? Without the ability to see "feedback left for others" that takes away one of very few tools sellers have to protect their accounts and spot abusive buyers.
I'd also like to reinforce that redesign requires umpteen more clicks to see basic info. Why does eBay constantly disrespect us and how valuable our time is by hiding everything behind never ending clicks and pop ups?! This is one of the things I hate most about eBay.
I'm all for change, redesign, etc - but not when it's inefficient or when we lose important functionality. Pretty much every seller and buyer I interact with on this platform on a regular basis feels similarly.

·2 years agoIf it's a test it's probably just lacking something in the current beta.
If it's a roll out then as with most rollouts the functionality is missing obvious things in the initial stages.
Or maybe they think it's a good idea?
@jjddmwi
Yeah I'm a "classic", I have not seen this format yet. Is there a "tell us what you think" link that you can convey your dislike?
Sure would be nice if they made the sort order sticky across all user feedback pages, I'm somewhat trained to switch to Most Recent but would enjoy not having to do that.
wastingtime101
·2 years agoIt's prob a rollout. If it was a test it wouldn't have a link to switch back to classic.
Do you see a link on that page to submit feedback or "tell us what you think"? If you do, use it @jjddmwi .
kyle@ebay
Hey @wastingtime101 thank you for this feedback! We'll be glad to pass this along to the proper teams for review.
wastingtime101
·2 years agoThanks @kyle@ebay . It's been said before, but I use both the app and the website. When I need to conduct real business I use the website because I don't want an app interface. I want full function, very efficient, and as few clicks as possible.
As a buyer I hate shopping websites that have been mirrored to their app interface because it takes ages to apply search filters. At least eBay hasn't gone that far (yet) and still has that helpful left side panel of search filters without dumping them all behind a button forcing 5 or 6 clicks when it currently takes only 1 click (as we are seeing with this new feedback design).

Why is there not a link on the new feedback page to give comments about what we think??
I have to chime in here as well as how clunky and unhelpful this new feedback page is. As a buyer and as a seller I often check feedback left for others, it is not an option used just by sellers. When I'm buying, I want to see what type of feedback the seller leaves and how they communicate with buyers.
It is also very frustrating to have to make more clicks in order to see that same information that we could see on the original screen in just one glance.

Please provide an update on this. Many of us do not like that we have lost the ability to view the feedback as it was before on the desktop and it looks like a rollout with perhaps only a temporary ability to switch back to classic view.
jjddmwi
OP2 years ago@buyselljack2016 no, not the case. When I switch back to classic view, you can see that they have.

·2 years agoMaybe post a screenshot of what you see?
I thought I was on the "new" feedback page....I see this:

Your eyes are not playing tricks on you. Some members are reporting seeing this new presentation of the FB page. It is NOT site wide at this point. IDK if it is a test or they are rolling it out. I have my fingers crossed that it is a test. 🤞
