New Customer Service is AWFUL.
Wow just wow, been here since 2018. This AI flagging is absolutely catastrophic and needs to stop, also making it like level 99 difficulty to contact a real human is insane.
I contacted their support chat regarding a Louis Vuitton belt I'm selling, it was flagged as counterfeit even though I posted the receipt and serial number, I bought this in person from Queen City Mall.
I was confident that when I submitted my appeal with multiple photos of the serial number and receipt it would work out. No the appeal was denied. Then the battle started.
I contacted support went to the chat, first person could barely understand english, I kept it simple. I explained the issue, got transferred to a specialist, he also couldn't help very well, just told me my listing violating the policy, he legit didn't understand what the meaning of proof was I don't think, that's fine, transferred to a "team lead."
At first it was okay this person seemed to understand my situation, however it got to the point where I'm assuming she was asking me crazy personal and invasive questions. Like why are you selling this belt so cheap? I had it listed for like 360 and I had lowered it once or twice, I've paid 200 for amazing quality used Louis I personally wear which is also in my seller history too, I explained to her it was a fair price and I was satisfied with what I was asking on it. It felt like I was having to defend my innocence. I told her this is why sellers feel mistreated and its only gotten worse.
Now onto my next issue with them, they flagged another listing for "selling outside eBay" which is complete **bleep** and a lie, I've never sent personal info or requested payment outside of eBay that's also ridiculous, this app is broken, and again on this one I have plenty of proof, lets see if they care or understand, wish me luck!
Quick update, they flagged my description because it said DM me for questions, obviously I mean through eBay, this AI is redundant and pitiful.
I pray for eBay's future.
P.S I work 58 hours a week as COO of a car lot and I'm a full time college student in my 20's, this took 3 hours after my workday for this chat stuff, this is so awful.

·5 months agoBetter get used to it, this is the new world order.
It's everywhere, I'm surprised you're just now running into it but anytime you have a problem with any large corporation it's like this, sometimes even as a customer but especially as an independent contractor (which is what we are as sellers on ebay).
Welcome to the age of AI, thank you for visiting ebay, please drive through!

·5 months ago@royalexoticsfashion I'm sorry it happened, but you made the choice to spend three hours fighting a losing battle. Since you've spent this much time, you may try contacting eBay on their IG page.
I would still be careful about relisting something the AI already pulled, as it will probaly get pulled again. Best to find another place to sell it.

OP5 months agoTeam lead was a lot more helpful on the second item. But the belt situation is the craziest thing I've ever experienced online. I got to make sure any of listings that has "DM" is changed just in case.
I just don't see what the point in entering all the serial number and receipt information when you create the listing does, you'd think it would run it through a authenticator system which eBay has. Like the fix for these issues are simple.

·5 months agoLuxury fashion brands have been suing eBay for decades. Louis Vuitton, Tiffany, l'Oreal, and Ralph Lauren have all won court cases against eBay over their brands.
And remember, per the User Agreement eBay can take your listing down for any reason it wants:
"we reserve the right to refuse, modify, or terminate all or part of our Services to anyone for any reason at our discretion"
