New… “BUYER WANTS TO SHOP MOREâ€
I’ve been selling since 1997. Never ever have I had to wait a week for my buyer to pay. This is baloney! I’m small potatoes and don’t sell a dozen of the same thing. I sell many one of a kind collectibles and antiques. I have 5 people now that I have to wait a week for them to pay. How many out there think this has to go away EBAY!!!!! This is CRUEL AND ABUSIVE ago your sellers! Oh and the rates just went up again!

Actually, when eBay rolled out Auto-pay they did not advise Sellers when they added it to their account and the Default setting for both Auctions and Offers was ON. I found out when it was added to mine because a potential customer messaged me saying no way would they give a payment method before they placed a bid on my auction. So I checked and sure enough, it had been added with no notification and it was turned ON.
I turned it off and eBay turned it back ON a week later, I turned it off a second time and it stuck. Them turning it back on may just have been a glitch in their rollout process.

The reason Buyers are given 7 days to keep shopping or to pay is because of settings on your account. eBay launched this new feature late last year.
If a Seller has Auto-pay turned on for Auctions and-or Offers on this page (near the bottom) Buyer management | eBay
AND they offer Combined shipping what happens for a Buyer who wins an auction is they are given that 7 days to continue shopping. eBay's thinking is that Buyers might want to take advantage of Combined shipping if they win more items.
Some Sellers don't even know Auto-pay has been added to their account(s) because eBay does not send notification and the default setting is ON ...

·7 months agoI see this quite often, but I have never had to wait the full seven days for payment. My buyers usually pay with a day or two of auction end. If I see that they are bidding on other items, I don't expect payment until those auctions end. If they are fixed price listings, my buyers decide within a day or so if they want more.

As a buyer I think it's a great idea because only bid when a seller will combine shipping and refund overage. I will always message seller before I bid to confirm they will combine shipping and how they do it. I bid accordingly based the shipping charges the sellers charge.

·7 months agoSellers with one day handling time have a day to ship AFTER the buyer has paid.
It is not effected.

·7 months agoThis is to allow buyers the time to combine shipping on multiple auction purchases. It gives them the option to either choose 1-hour autopay, where it will pay the order using the card info they input 1-hour after an auction ends if they are the winner. Or they can choose 7-day autopay, which allows them time to bid on multiple things and then request combine shipping. They can pay earlier, but either way will be autopay exactly 7 days after the auction ends.
This is more for the sellers so that it limits the amount of unpaid items. I believe that you can turn this off in your selling preferences.

·7 months agoI've never heard of a 7 day option to pay. IN my TOS I say I will combine and wait for additional shopping if requested but not for a week. If I hear nothing I cancel after 4 days and relist.
