Need Help - Selling Privileges Restricted - BBE
Hello,
Dear Members,
Today, I received an Email "Your account's selling privileges and payout are restricted due to bad buyer experience."
Can I get back my account, if not it is permanently restricted?
What do I have to do to get it back?
Please help me with your experience.
I love my eBay account.

·3 years agoHopefully the restrictions will be removed for me next week. I have been talking to CS a lot and two days ago they told me that they have escalated the case to a specialized team. They are expecting it to take 5-7 business days to get a resolution from them.
I wish everyone else affected by this good luck on having their restrictions removed.

·3 years agoIntegrated Drop Shipping.
Drop Shipping Services for numerous products can be easily listed to such platforms as Shopify, TikTok, eBay, Shopee, etc., with an increased efficiency of 70%.
They can offer custom pictures and print-on-demand packaging.
mam98031
·3 years agoHow are you defining "integrated drop shipping"?
krazzykats
·3 years agoDidn't know what else to call it.
Wholesalers that integrate into eBay's system and drop ship directly to your customer. Not retail arbitrage. You can only drop ship if you are authorized. The companies create the listings for you and then they can be easily uploaded to eBay. Mam: Check your messages for the name of the one I signed up for and tested. You may have a better name for this type of activity.
Remember SMC Corp and Tom Bosley back in the day? Very similar, but all digital now, and many more products to choose from. Add .com to the name and check it out.
mam98031
·3 years agoThat may be true for some companies, but absolutely not all. I dropshipped for years. I created and posted my own listings. I was an authorized seller from the supplier I used.
As to the PM you sent me. I saw that before this post. Now I know what you were talking about in the PM, so no need to respond to it.

·3 years agoMany people will decide someone is a drop shipper because they look at the pics on a seller's listing and determine it to be a stock photo. You can't go by that. Ebay has a program to edit your pics to a white background and there are other programs that will do that. The Ebay catalog contains all kinds of what some would call a stock photo and if a seller wants to use them they can.

Agreed. I think the other side of the coin is eBay, in some cases, cannot differentiate between sellers who are actually drop shipping and those that are not but may appear to be.

Great minds think a like don't they? lol
They deny that they're drop shipping when all the evidence is quite clear, but still want to argue the opposite regardless. I just roll my eyes and giggle. ðŸ˜

·3 years agoOnly if you don't understand that lots of US Ebay sellers do just what they are doing and they aren't drop shipping. Granted I'm only going by what the seller said here. But none of us know that the seller is not telling the truth. Amazon is used a lot to hold inventory for a seller and then ship as instructed by the seller. It is common practice for many sellers. I'm unsure why some are being so hard on this one seller. It does not make sense.
Of course there is a chance the seller is not being truthful here but there is a chance they are being truthful. IDK why some are so unwilling to see that this happens all the time. Amazon shipping for a seller on Ebay, shipping stock the seller owns but held at an Amazon facility.

·3 years agoOP can't list as multiple locations as they were doing. It is considered as a reason for items not as described and would also be caught in the item not received claims as it shows a ship from location. Maybe this is how ebay is cracking down on the members who have been violating policy. Ebay finally found a way to rid the site of this sneaky behavior.
https://www.ebay.com/help/policies/listing-policies/item-location-policy?id=4244&st=3&pos=1&query=Item%20location%20policy&intent=item%20locatio&lucenceai=lucenceai&docId=HELP1245
Item location information must accurately state where the item will be shipped from.
To make sure buyers have a clear understanding of shipping charges and delivery times, sellers must provide accurate information in their listings about where their item will be shipped from.
What is the policy?
Activity on eBay is required to:
If activity doesn’t meet these requirements, eBay may take action consistent with applicable laws and the eBay User Agreement, and may even be legally required to do so. Such actions may include, as an example only: administratively ending listings or canceling transactions, hiding or lowering the placement of listings in search results, lowering seller rating, restricting buying or selling, forfeiture of fees, loss of buyer or seller protections, restricting access to member communication and rating tools, removing feedback, and account suspension.

·3 years agoThe same thing happened to me and after a week of talking to support they told me that the decision was final and that my account would only be used for purchases and that I could not sell again something totally unfortunate, they also told me that they would hold my payments for more than 170 days, this policy seems crazy to me and something totally out for sellers with good qualifications, if someone solves it they should publish it for others with this problem, let's hope for a solution.

Your situation is a bit different than the OP's. I suspect you were suspended for selling digital items in violation of eBay policy.

janet9988
·3 years agoAlso the seller is located in Columbia but the DIGITAL item location is in the US. LOL
Something kinda weird going on there.
fab_finds4u
·3 years agoThere is no solution if eBay says you can't sell again. I'm surprised they haven't removed the three digitally delivered items you're selling in the wrong format. Digital code delivered items need to be listed in Everything Else> Information Products category unless you have been pre-approved to sell digitally delivered items.

·3 years agoI got the same restriction. I wrote to them and they sent the same copypasta answer. I am not a dropshipper. Everything ships with tracking. There has not been a single case opened against me. I recently has a buyer leave x4 negative feedback after he was refunded. I made a mistake on the invoice and wrote him multiple times explaining the refund. Six weeks later, he left x4 negative feedbacks. Ebay removed them as they saw I tried. I think these still had a negative impact on my numbers. Maybe someone knows. It seems very odd. Though, I think the platform is dying a bit as compared to years ago.
robbie31415
·3 years agoThis is good news, I'm sorry OP.
International people that repost Amazon and other big retail products and use them to "dropship" have been a plague on eBay.
It's about time they started taking action.

ckimodog
·3 years ago@maxiarbitrage
By putting the word "arbitrage" in your seller ID didn't help your situation either. Arbitrage will get you shut down every time. I'm glad to see eBay is finally starting to clean up this site by removing sellers who deceive customers by this selling practice. Sorry. Here's a link that can further explain eBay's decision:
Drop shipping and product sourcing
"However, listing an item on eBay and then purchasing the item from another retailer or marketplace that ships directly to your customer is not allowed on eBay.
Best of luck with future career opportunities.
maxiarbitrage
·3 years agoYes, I understand this, the name sounded good when I opened my account. The thing is, I own all my stock. I import containers from China. I work from my warehouse. Every day my orders are hand picked from my warehouse and are sent out. This is why the restriction is weird. Not sure what Ebay wants from my account. I have a VAt number, I use the OSS system. I have build a full working company and business on Ebay and still get these explainable restrictions.
maxine*j
·3 years agoThen there is a good possibility that the goods are counterfeit, which would be the reason, or part of it, for restriction.

mam98031
·3 years agoThat would be a first for me. Ebay allowed the name to be used as their ID and you are saying that because of their name they are getting sanctioned? Interesting.
mam98031
·3 years agoSometimes people just assume it isn't your inventory. There are some sellers that practice Retail Arbitrage on a regular basis.
Personally I have purchases things several times on Ebay and received an Amazon package. I am also aware that there are many sellers now on Ebay that have their stock stored at an Amazon FBA site therefore Amazon ships their orders. But you also pay for that service.
robbie31415
·3 years agoYou may not be, but could be being swept up in this stricter policy stance.
I've noticed multiple stores have been closing with the same message from eBay BBE, and they were all retail "dropshippers".
mam98031
·3 years agoBut they aren't a drop shipper? And other sellers I've seen with this same issue are not dropshippers.
robbie31415
·3 years agoDidn't say they were a dropshipper though. 🤔
robbie31415
·3 years agoI will add that if you look up the latest item from the OP. Same pictures and title as Amazon. Seller location Sri Lanka and item location "multiple locations in the US" 🙃
mam98031
·3 years agoThe poster explained this in an earlier post. Their inventory they own is in Amazon FBA. Lots of Ebay sellers do this. It is their inventory at an Amazon location. Amazon will ship the items as instructed by the owner of the merchandise. Amazon is compensated for service rendered.
Now to be clear, the seller did not say they use FBA, that is an assumption on my part. But it is the only way Amazon would have their stock in one of their warehouses.
The first post of theirs you responded to stated this.

mam98031
·3 years agoI merely went by what you posted, nothing more. A previous post of yours stated "I've noticed multiple stores have been closing with the same message from eBay BBE, and they were all retail "dropshippers"." So I guess technically you didn't say this particular seller is a drop shipper, but it was certainly implied. Sorry I got it wrong.
dbfolks166mt
·3 years agoBut they aren't a drop shipper? And other sellers I've seen with this same issue are not dropshippers.
No way to really tell, other than OP's statement, whether they are drop shipping or not. As you mentioned they could be using the Amazon warehousing to hold and ship their items, which according to Amazon now represents about 30% of their sales. It's a tough situation for some sellers but if they are using Amazon service at least they can continue to sell through that venue. There is some irony in that fact since eBay is in fact giving up business to one of their major competitors simply because eBay has no way to separate the true drop shippers from those using the Amazon service.
mam98031
·3 years agoI have no desire to judge the seller as not being truthful here. These sanctions seem to be happening hard and fast to a variety of international sellers for a variety of perceived reasons. To me it is a hot mess and I think Ebay may be making some mistakes in an effort of cleaning up the system. Over the years similar things have happened on the US site to US sellers.

·3 years agoMy eBay account restricted. I've been on ebay for 13 years and I have 1600 sales and 578 full positive feedback. I make and sell all of my products myself. All handmade. I don't do dropshipping. But this happened to me too. eBay customer reps don't know or say anything. In the e-mail, it says that it is restricted because of the INR score. But in my conversations with customer representatives, they say that my account is restricted due to BBE. There is nothing wrong with my account and they have restricted my account. I am not dropsipper...

I would be afraid to put something like this in a listing:
Please don't buy with "Buy it Now"
Please firstly make an offer or sent a message.
I can make a nice discount for you.
Thank you.
for fear ebay would think I was trying to take sales off ebay.......
dbfolks166mt
·3 years agoUnfortunately in my case I do not do that, I own all my stock, I do not think this is the reason, and this is why I am having difficulty understanding what is the reason behind the restriction
It may be the fact that you simply appear to be drop shipping especially since your listings indicate items ship from multiple locations in the US. If you are in fact using Amazon's, or some other storage/shipping service, fulfilment type service eBay has no way to separate those types of sellers from those that are actually taking an order and then purchasing and shipping the item from a retailer.

maxiarbitrage
·3 years agoWe have the same issue. We received the email today. Ebay has now started removing our listings. We tried receiving more information from them regarding why is this policy being implemented earlier than stated. The email is confusing as it does not mention anything bout INR % only about Item not as Described.
And there is no mention in the email about how or when the restriction will be lifted. Have you had any updates from Ebay?
mam98031
·3 years agoWould you please post the email, black out any personal info.

·3 years agoA bad buyer experience ("BBE") will occur but is not limited to the following scenarios:
(a) Buyer filed for a dispute under "Item Not as Described";
(b) Buyer returned the item and gave a return reason that indicates "Item Not as Described";
(c) Seller canceled the transaction because you no longer had the item, or the item was never shipped, and the buyer's money was returned;
(d) Buyer left a Detailed Seller Rating score of 1, 2, or 3 for "Item as Described"; or
(e) Buyer left Neutral or Negative feedback for you.
To protect the eBay community from BBE and pursuant to the eBay User Agreement and eBay Policies, we regret to inform you that your eBay account has been restricted. This restriction means that:
(a) Your selling privileges are restricted. Consequently, you will not be able to create new listings or revise any listings that are live on eBay sites; and
(b) Your payouts have been placed on hold.
The safety of our community is a top priority for us. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.

·3 years agoIt appears from the current threads that this is an email a lot of international sellers are getting. To be honest it does not make a lot of sense to me. There are things in that list that international sellers are not evaluated on nor are we here in the US. So I don't understand why they are in the email. You need to contact Ebay directly.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service.

If when you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant, type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options.

·3 years agoYou are misrepresenting your item location.
You can not possibly ship from Bulgaria using the US postal service.
I seriously do not know how ebay even allows you to choose the USPS.
kensgiftshop
·3 years agoAre you dropshipping from Amazon or another retail site?
mam98031
·3 years agoKeep in mind that some sellers on Ebay also sell on Amazon. And some of those sellers have their stock in FBA [Amz warehouse], so it is Amazon that ships it [they pay for the service], but it is their own inventory. So not all are practicing retail arbitrage.
kensgiftshop
·3 years agoYes, but you can tell the ones that are not using FBA, but dropshipping from there.
mam98031
·3 years agoNot unless you ask. In this case the poster being discussed stated that is what they did.
IDK that this is a problem created by a bunch of dropshippers, it appears to be a mixed bag. The problem is how punitive they are making the Service Metrics for foreign sellers. A policy that doesn't even start until the 24th of this month. But still it is overly punitive.
I have responded to sellers selling their own stuff that they have in hand, others sell from inventory they have in Amazon FBA, others are actually drop shippers, etc. It isn't all or one.
Part of the issue for these sellers is the expense of shipping with tracking. That is often too expensive from their countries to make what they sell even desirable for others.
Ebay and only Ebay can address this issue and resolve it or at least make it a fairer policy.
nordic-finds
·3 years agoI have the exact same issue.

More arbitrary ways to ruin sellers.

·3 years agoWere those five different buyers? Or is that a list of possible reasons one buyer had a problem?
D and E are strange since we can't see your Detailed Seller Ratings and you have no negs or neutrals. eBay doesn't use either to assess member accounts.
the_life_store
OP3 years agoYes, all buyers are different, there are no open cases.
maxine*j
·3 years agoYou are dropshipping stuff made in China that is, supposedly, warehoused in various U.S. locations. So you have no control over authenticity, quality, availability, packing, or shipping -- and yet YOU are responsible to buyers when there are problems with any of those. It is a risky business plan, with "bad buyer experiences" nearly inevitable. I hope that, for your own sake, you can find another way to sell on eBay.

Hey @mam98031 you hit it right on the head in your earlier reply. This email is different-looking simply due to the seller's location. However, @the_life_store that definitely looks to me like it is a real email from eBay. ·3 years agonot too long ago i started selling on Ebay, bhought alot of stuff created listings and kept asking ebay question to do things correctly.. out of my 105 orders i had 1 neutral because of a glitch on ebays site which caused me to be able to see the refund case on mobile phone, but not being able to solve it there, and when i went on the computer i couldnt see anything about it... however that created my restriction... then i contact them and they tell me there is "EXTREMELY high " BBE with me, which i dont understand at all... all i had was one neutral feedback, the rest has been positive and never heard anything negative from my customers or i would have handled it or refunded them... can anyone elaborate what i can do?... first im told that its not permanent and i can appeal next month, then i talk to a new agent and he says im not able to appeal, are they playing with peoples livelihood or what? im trying to run a legit business and try to satisfy my customers as much as possible..
