Need Help: Account Restricted for High Risk Selling
Hi eBay Community,
I recently received a message from eBay stating that my account has been restricted due to "high risk selling." Here is the content of the message I received:
*Dear treasure.case,
eBay regularly evaluates the accounts of eBay sellers. In relation to your account, we have noticed that your account performance and activities may cause a risk to the eBay community. To protect the eBay community, we have applied the following restrictions to your eBay account in accordance with the eBay user agreement and eBay policies:
(a) Your selling privileges are restricted. Consequently, you will neither be able to create new listings nor revise your existing listings on any eBay site; and
(b) Your payments have been placed on hold.
Restriction reason: High risk selling.
The safety of our community is a top priority for us. We appreciate your understanding in this matter.
Regards,
eBay*
I have been a seller on eBay for 15 years, and this account is 15 years old.
I'm unsure why my account has been flagged as high risk. I've always followed eBay's policies and maintained good performance metrics.
Has anyone else experienced a similar issue? What steps can I take to resolve this and get my account reinstated? Any advice or guidance would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you in advance for your help!
Best regards,
Janis

There are different levels of action Ebay might take against a seller. If you are restricted, you can still sell, just maybe less items or you can only post a certain amount. To have your selling account status lowered is another thing. And the worst is being not allowed to sell anything anymore.
You got an email from Ebay telling you why you are "restricted". What that email says is important. Would you please share the email with us making sure you black out any private information? That would help us to help you if we can.

·1 year agoDid they also give you any instructions on what they need you to do? Sometimes they will ask for shipping information / tracking on sold items and maybe some other stuff. Then they tell you to contact them once you have uploaded that information to them.
Have you looked at your Seller Dashboard to see where you are having problems?
https://sellerstandards.ebay.com/dashboard?region=US
You need to research your stats as a seller to zero in on your problem so you know what needs attention. Too many INR, INADs or something else.

·1 year agoI'm an above standard seller with 100% positive feedback with no problems after sending many emails this is there last reply without specifying the exact cause and it looks an automatic reply:
Thank you for writing back to eBay Customer Service. We appreciate the time you have dedicated to appeal your account restriction.
I have carefully reviewed your previous requests and our answers regarding restriction and can see that you were provided with the correct information, our answer will remain unchanged.
As eBay is an internet-based business and its members are our customers, we have to carefully weigh the risks involved with allowing users on our site. From time to time, we find accounts which have a risk that no longer justifies a continuing relationship with eBay.
All actions were taken according to “eBay User Agreement†http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/user-agreement.html
We appreciate the time you have dedicated in contacting us again, however, we have already shared all the details with you regarding the existing concern. Unfortunately, we will be unable to address it again. In case you have a different concern then we will be glad to assist you. We request your understanding in this matter.
I appreciate you taking the time to contact eBay Customer Service today to clarify this matter. Have a nice day!
Kind regards,
Abhijeet, M.

·1 year agoHi,I have the same exact issue too ,I got this email suddenly. Is there anyone successfully appeal after 30 days 😮â€ðŸ’¨ðŸ˜®â€ðŸ’¨ My INR is perfect and don't have any issues and somemore I haven't sold anything in past five months and today I suddenly received the email and they removed all my listing. This is just too sudden.
I got email as below:

To protect the eBay community, we have applied the following restrictions to your eBay account in accordance with the eBay user agreement and eBay policies:

Then when I asked for a reason , CS replied with this :
We understand that your account has been restricted and you would like to appeal on the account restriction. We are here to assist you in resolving this issue.
Upon reviewing your account, we have determined that the restriction was due to concerns that your account's performance and activities may pose a risk to the eBay community.
During this period of restriction, your selling privileges are restricted, you will not be able to create new listings or revise existing ones on any eBay site, and your payments have been placed on hold.
However, you can appeal the current restriction after 30 days, provided that no new claims are opened within 1 month and there is no negative balance. Once the 30 days have passed, please contact us again to proceed with the appeal.
We are happy to review your account and proceed accordingly.
I hope your concern has been addressed.
Thank you for contacting to eBay Customer Service and we wish you have a great day
i insisted a reason and they replied again with message below:
We understand your concerns and the urgency of your situation. It can be frustrating to experience an account restriction, especially when you have maintained a positive track record with no negative reviews or open issues.
However, please note that the one-month waiting period after the restriction was placed is part of the criteria for appeals in such cases. This timeframe is in place to ensure a thorough review of your account and to maintain the security and integrity of the platform. While I acknowledge that you have not had any recent negative activity or open claims, these procedures are standard for all users undergoing similar account assessments.
However, please be assured that the change in your mobile device is not the reason your account was restricted. The restriction is part of standard procedures to ensure the security and integrity of the platform.
Appreciate your patience and understanding regarding this matter.
Thank you for contacting to eBay Customer Service and we wish you have a great day.

·2 years agoSee a few problems with your listings.
It says the items are located in the US, but in your description, you say they'll be shipped by Royal Mail, but we don't have Royal Mail in the US.
Shipping, you have Ebay Standard Envelope and phone cases don't qualify for it.

·2 years agoLook at it like this, its called the Wyatt Earp effect. See Dodge City was a wide open town once upon a time. Then Wyatt Earp came to town and settled things down. Then he went to Tombstone, Arizona and did it one more time.

Looks like you are located in Latvia & you're drop shipping from the US, possibly 3rd party because I'm seeing the same pictures of the items you sold, listed on Amazon & the items are listed for a lot less. This is a huge policy violation. You also appear to have several late shipping complaints as well. My suggestion would be to follow @mam98031 's advice and contact the links they provided for you. See what you can find out if anything. Usually drop shippers who practice retail arbitrage don't get a second chance.
Good luck all the same

OP2 years agoI dont use drop ship. I al located in latvia and i send packages to Us. Location us is because there I can set time what I can deliver to client. its always 9-10 days. And if location is US I can sen delivery time 10 days. But is I set Latvia. best delivery time I get is 30 days
mam98031
·2 years agoSo you ship from Latvia?? Then why do some of your listings say you ship from Oregon in the USA?
Sellers are REQUIRED to put the location in the listings that is the locate the product will ship from. No exceptions.
treasure.case
OP2 years agoI do it becasue i cant set shipping time what I can really give customer. my delivery time was 10 days and ebay give mest 30 days. Than I type location where my packages is going to US. Ok but how I can now reactive my account?
mam98031
·2 years agoOnly Ebay can reactivate your account.
In post 3 I gave you all your options to contacting Ebay.

OP2 years agoi try them all and i havnt got any ansver
mam98031
·2 years agoWhat does that mean? You tried all avenues in which to contact Ebay and no one was able to help or no one gave you the answer you wanted?
There may be no way to get your account back sorry to say.
mam98031
·2 years agoOn each Ebay page there is a link to contact Customer Service at the top of the page and again at the bottom of the page.
I would suggest that you contact Ebay for Business on Facebook, Instagram or Twitter for the better trained CSRs.
Here are your options for contacting Ebay Customer Service. Please be aware that for social media CS, you send them a Private Message and briefly explain what your problem or issue is. Feel free to leave your Name, address, phone number and/or your email address in this message. It is private and secure and it may help to speed up the response for you.
https://twitter.com/askebay
https://www.facebook.com/ebay
https://www.instagram.com/ebayforsellers/
Your options will be on the left. If you use the link below you can only get to the Automated Assistant or Chat box type AGENT in the box and hit enter. You will then get more options. Not all options are available 24/7. It will depend on staffing available. So sometimes you can request a call back and sometimes you can't. Sometimes you have the Chat option available and other times it won't me. If it is important to you to use one of those options, just try back later.
If you use a cell phone or other mobile device, you may need to turn off your Spam filter so that Ebay can call you.
If you are a seller outside of the US or Canada, you will need to use the Chat Option.

·1 year agoHi, am facing the same issue, have tried contacted by IG Personal Message but still no feedback.. Are they giving a quick response normally?
One question, if account is restricted due to below standard, any chance to get the account back active?
mam98031
·1 year agoBeing "Below Standard" does not deactivate you account. It lowers you in the search returns and you have a penalty fee of 5-6% you pay on top of the regular fees. There are a few other things too, but you are not deactivated.
brightlightbookseller
·1 year agoAs @mam98031 , you're not restricted by being "Below Standard", by eBay's nomenclature. Your account may be restricted, but that's a separate issue. If you post (preferably in a new thread) exactly what message you got from eBay stating you were restricted, we may be able to help, but many times those restrictions are permanent.
mam98031
·2 years agoIt could be a combination of a few things. Last summer Ebay changed it's Performance policy for international sellers. If you got too many INRs filed against you, that can be the issue or part of the issue.
It appears you drop ship. Some of your sold listings say they ship from Portland Oregon in the USA, at least one I saw the location of the item was Latvia USA.
Are the items you are selling genuine Samsung, Apple, Google, etc. phone cases or are they knock offs.
