need clarification on my selling fees
I rarely check the fees that I pay, but I did recently. (I get 250 free listings a month, which I never go over that amount). Fees that I pay: "ad fee standard" and "promoted listings". So - if I get 250 free listings, why am I paying "ad fee standard" ?? I have no problem with the promoted listings and do like that feature. Thanking you all in advance !!.......fishladyd

to add to the other info:
If you turn off the "prompted" on a listing you may still be charged a "fee" for the "promotion" if it sells. When someone has "viewed" that "prompted" listing the "fee" will be applied even if the "promotion" is now turned off. I believe the time frame on that is "within the last 30 days", but don't quote me on that 30 days.
Actually ending/relisting (without promoting) will eliminate that fee.

·2 years agoYou are only paying it because you agreed to pay it. And be aware that with halo you may pay it on things that are not even promoted.

·2 years agoYou are confused...there are different types of fees (listing fees, selling fees, ad fees).
Listing fees = monthly fees to list item on EBAY (you get 250 free)
Selling fees = fees you pay when item sells
Ad fees = extra fees you pay when "promoted item" sells
If you are being charged "ad fees" you must be selling "promoted items". To "turn off" promotion....go to LISTINGS, ACTIVE (click down arrow & select EDIT PROMOTED LISTINGS). Then you can "turn off" promotion.

·2 years agoI don't promote any listings so could someone explain to me what "ad fee standard" is versus "promoted listings"?
The 250 free listings refers to listing fees, not final value fees of any kind.

·2 years agopromoted listings is something you 'do' 'sign up for' etc.
ad fee standard is the CHARGE seen on the payment breakdown when an item sells via Promoted LIsting.

·2 years agoCouple things - I wouldnt mind seeing a screenshot breakdown of the fees you pay on one of your $12 to $20 sales - I also dont see how anyone can "like that feature" with reference to promoted listings. For those who need to sell to pay the mortgage, I can see using them, but "Liking" them?
For a large portion of those using ebays "suggested rates" it doubles the fees - If you are selling items in demand that would likely sell without using PLs, why would you use them at all? and more so, why would you "like" them?
These fees pit sellers against each other like a cage match - You go to 4%, I'll go to 6%, and so because 4% no longer works for them, they go to 8% to get one over on you and so on... and so on... EVERYONE eventually loses, even the site itself, because the fees jack up prices and reduce service and quality, driving buyers away - there is NOTHING to LIKE about this heinous program in my opinion...

·2 years agowhy am I paying "ad fee standard"
Because you signed up to use PL Standard for some/all items and one of those items sold........so you pay the fee. PL standard fees are only charged when the item sells.........
