My pet peeve that nothing will be done about.
I really wish that when a moderator responded to a thread just to close it, it didn't bump the entire thread.
It drove me nuts on the old forum, and it drives me nuts now.
I get all excited thinking there's some new, insightful (or witty! I like witty!) information being added to a discussion, but no, it's just an important announcement that the party is over. It's very counterintuitive! :(

路2 weeks agoIt is simply because it has a current post. Nothing more. They are easy to spot and just move on to another thread. It will drop off in short order from the top of the Forum as more people post on other threads. A very short term issue. I sure wish they were all like that.

OP2 weeks agoMaybe there's something wrong with me specifically where I in particular can't easily tell when a thread has been replied to by a moderator vs an ordinary forum-goer at a glance, but I can't. As others have brought up, this actually was less of an issue on the old forums because they showed who last replied to a thread, but because the new forum sometimes doesn't even load the newest comments, let alone tell you who last replied at a glance, that's not an option anymore.
I don't expect anything to be done about it because it is ultimately a minor annoyance.

As said it's worse on this forum where so much info is missing on the post list.
But with the fewer posts here I'm still spending a lot less time viewing posts, regardless of the annoyances of this new forum.

路2 weeks agoI empathize .......at least on the old board, you would see who responded (id)......or that the thread was closed......no chance of that on this new iteration.

I kinda miss that; I could tell when a thread was locked without even clicking the thread.

路2 weeks agoYa it would because of what you see with the new system, re locked thread. Most do not have anything that needs to be seen and just clutters the feed.
Depends on how you view the whole thing, many of us do not just look at one category but see a random cross section of posts.
There is no reason that a locked thread that just was closed and was original started years ago needs to be bumped just because it was locked.
