My listing included a shipping fee but the sale indicated shipping was free
I almost never use free shipping. But I just had a sale and according to the ship your order page, no shipping was paid. How does this happen and is there anything I can do? Also strange is that for this order (For replacement parts for a game) no notice was sent to me. Any suggestions?

·6 months agoOoooo, I had that happen to me a couple of times. I also caught it a couple of times before items sold just by looking at my active listings and noticed it said "you pay" for shipping when it usually states "buyer pays" under the shipping. Gotta really check your active listings and revise if needed.

·6 months agoI've had this happen before. You spot the mistake, you fix it, and you move on.
If it's not too costly, go ahead and ship the order and eat the loss. This is what I did as it was only going to cost me a couple of dollars.
If it's going to hurt you financially, then cancel the order, risk getting negative feedback, and get a defect for cancelling an order. Personally, I'd rather be out a few bucks. But obviously if it's a very expensive to ship item this may not be feasible.
Up to you to decide which makes more sense for your business.

·6 months agoThe only thing I would do in that situation is mumble to myself and ship the order. You do have a few free shipping items including some other replacement game pieces, so maybe you did a sell similar and forgot to add shipping.
From reading the board ebay is glitching on the sold notifications. Wastingtime101 posted about this.

2. There was a brief server issue last night for about 2-3 hours. During that period the orders page was down and no emails made it through for those orders. It was a tech issue that resolved within a few hours. You will not receive emails for orders that came through during that period.
As for suggestions:
1. Ship as advertised, take the loss, double-check your listings before publishing, and check your active listings for other 'free ship' errors.
2. Log in to your selling account every day to check sales, even if you don't get email alerts.

OP6 months agoI do know I have to send the item which I will do. I also checked the other game pieces and found a couple more which I changed. But I didn't use sell similar and two other listings had the shipping price added. So, I just went through the rest of my inventory and found several more with free shipping which I changed. Thanks for the information on the servers.

·6 months agoYou listing did NOT have a shipping fee on it...shows free shipping on your listing so you need to just pay the shipping out of your own pocket and move on. You cannot charge the buyer any shipping.
